Shade looked around the small box she called home. Pushing the flap of the box, she looked around the ally. She gave her grey coat a shake before spotting a rat. She hated the taste but it was either that or garbage left by humans.

Daisy padded to her storage den. There was a food pile, some herb piles, and a covered up hole the size of a kitten. She started to weep, looking at the grave. Her younger brother, Spotty, died of a garter snake. She crouched down and exploded into a crying mess.

Shade looked around, no other cats.. Normally at least one or two stray cats wandered into her alley every day. But atleast not today. Stalking the rat, she managed to catch it with once pounce. The hard, carren-place tasting food left an foul taste in her mouth.
