Vulpes >> Fox Roleplay

Humans have designed a vaccine for rabies, but when they use it on themselves, it turned them into savage, terrible monsters. The City is in chaos: humans are beginning to slaughter stray animals to devour, and even one another. Coyotes stumble upon these carcasses and feast on them, thus being infected by the mysterious disease and passing it on to the outside world. The world is in turmoil. The animals are deathly frightened. What is to happen to their kind?

Image
The plot is simple. You are a fox, a survivor. You have not been infected with the illness...yet. You have to survive in the urban jungles and harsh wilderness and avoid infected animals and human beings. You are with a tribe of other foxes just like yourself.

Image
The infected are the deadliest out there. It is not that difficult to spot them. They usually have many gashes and gaping wounds on their body, their eyes bloodshot and rolling in their sockets. Once they make contact with you, you are a goner.

Image
Firstly, find shelter to sleep in, away from the wind and rain, and hidden so infected living things cannot locate you. Secondly, find food and drink. You need to get all the prey and water you can find, before the infected infects them as well. Remember to check the water for a murky green sheen and the animals for any infected synthoms. Thirdly, defend your tribe. You are bound to run into infected along the way, so you must know how to shake them off without making contact. Fourth, let the future unfold itself...

Vulpes >> The Rules

a) All Eldemore rules apply. I bet all of you saw that coming:)
b) No powerplaying or god modding. It can get annoying if another controls your character, especially if your character is controlled to seem silly and clueless. Your character cannot be perfect, and cannot dodge every blow when fighting or be successful with every hunt.
c) This is a literate roleplay, so I expect a paragraph of seven lines or more each post.
d) Make your posts neat and please disable your signatures.
e) You can only make a fox character. No wings or fire breathing powers. Just an ordinary fox. You may not join as one of the infected, for you would die sooner or later.
f) I cannot stress this enough: please be ACTIVE. I do not wish for this roleplay to die within a few pages. If you would be inactive for a while, please inform me beforehand so I know not to delete your character and open up your slot.
g) Proper grammar and spelling please.
h) You may use your own forms, but they need to contain all the basics like name, age, gender, species, personality and a picture. History is optional.
i) Drama is encouraged. Romance is allowed, but the roleplay does not revolve round that. Please do not say you have a crush on a high ranked fox because you would like to have a high rank. See if your fox's personality goes well with him/her. And no rushed romance. Make it more than 4 pages.
j) Go into detail.
k) Please do not be mates or crushes with yourself. It is not fun
l) If you get three strikes, it would be a temporary ban. I would PM you if you are allowed to return. Break the rules the fourth time and you would be banned permanantely.
m) Listen, I am going to try and make the roleplay fun, but only if you follow the rules!:D

Vulpes >> The Territory

The City ~
Predators: Infected humans, humans, infected animals, stray dogs and cats, coyotes, vultures

It has transformed into an urban jungle. Infected humans continue to roam the streets. Unknown to most, thousands of people still live there, in filthy alleys and shop houses and high-rise flats, away from the insane infected. Bakeries and food stalls are still running, though in secret. It is a perfect spot to scavenge for food. But watch out for the infected! Their enhanced hearing and sensitivity to movement makes it dangerous to get even several meters near them.

The Foxlands ~
Predators: Infected animals, coyotes, wolves, humans (hardly)

It consists of large expanses of the dilapidated City, and patches of the outside wilderness as well. True to its name, foxes call it home. One could not have asked for a more secure and wonderful place. Although it is not the cleanest, it provides the foxes with sheltered homes and sufficient prey. The foxes slumber in cardboard boxes deep inside dimly lit alleys. An old, broken down red car is the place of meeting, where the Dominant male and female foxes would stand on its roof.

The Forest ~
Predators: Tigers, wildcats, clouded leopards, humans, infected animals, wolves

Lush yet lethal, the forest is a place of solace and tranquillity for some foxes. There is a spring in its heart, and has many meandering streams. It is not as dense as other forests, so it is easier for foxes to spot approaching predators. It is thriving with deer, rabbits, mice, squirrels, and abundant in berries and nuts.

The Waterfall
Predators: None at all

The Waterfall is beautiful and peaceful. Fortunately, no other living things have discovered it apart from the foxes. If the Foxlands is at the risk of being found, they move to the Waterfall, and rest in the cave at the back of the glistening cascade, pups and nursing mothers all the way at the back and protected well. The falls is fed from a creek that flows down a mountain.

The Mountains
Predators: Snow leopards, Arctic wolves, golden eagles

The Mountains is a treacherous area, but excellent for shelter as no one would think of going there. Arctic hares roam about, and so does weasels. Foxes make dens in those large caves. They are prone to falling to their death due to the tricky terrain and fragile outcrops.

The Meadow
Predators: None at all

The Meadow is best avoided. It has absolutely no cover, making infected humans in cars (it is possible) detect them easily. It has plentiful prey, but one is not advised to stay long.

All foxes are equal. There are no ranks, just tribe in which the foxes are like a large family. We would need 8 to 10 foxes to begin, or maybe just 7. Each person has to make at least two characters when they join. The more the merrier:)

Gender: Vixen
Age: Young adult (Age here is kit, young adult, adult or elder)
Species: Red fox

Name: Delphi
Gender: Vixen

Species: Red fox

Name: Vallia

Vulpes >> Weather and Updates

Postby .Dancer. » Sat Jan 02, 2016 10:40 am

Weather
It is currently mid-summer. Plants and grass are withering due to the scorching heat. Water bodies are drying up fast, no longer swelled up like they were in spring. Prey is thriving though, with the most common being rabbits, squirrels and pigeons.

Updates
Grand opening

Welcome to my first roleplay in Eldemore! Finally, we are now open. Feel free to post your forms and remember, at least two foxes per person.

Image
Name: Gil
Sex: Male
Age: Young Adult
Species: Red Fox(Cross fox variant)
Personality: (Defining points; Cheerful, Dreamer, Curious) Gil is optimistic about the situation, and believes that with some luck and skill, the foxes can overcome this plague and come out on top of a world that is safer and brighter for foxes. Because of his views he tends to come across as a 'head in the clouds' sort, and can be annoyingly certain that their kind will pull through no matter the heartache. He has high faith in the 'humanity' of others- he believes that everyone(at least all foxes) are inherently good, and can be too trusting or eager to see the good in even the darkest of individuals. He does understand that the infected need to be avoided, but he can't help but feel curious about them.
History: Gil's parents were taken by the infection, but in their last moments of being themselves, they told him to run and never look back- always look forward, to the dawn. Eventually things will get better, so might as well try and help things along in your own small way, too. He's taken those words to heart, and will almost never be found reminiscing on the past or what might have been.

Image
Name: Vallia
Sex: Female
Age: Adult(Approaching elder)
Species: Corsac Fox
Personality: (Defining points; Bitter, Individualistic, Snarky) Vallia prefers to distance herself from others, and tends to believe that being around others simply makes you a more obvious target for anything ranging from others' scorn to the infected that roam the wilderness. She is quiet sure of her abilities to live alone, and resents being pulled into this haven, a fact which she often points out but never remedies. It would seem she's formed an attachment to the idea of a safe-haven, even if she conflicts with it personally, and if things went downhill, she'd be among the first to offer her life for her new home. Vallia is also well aware of her on-coming age and the silvering fur on her muzzle, and she feels self-conscious about this, seeing it as a form of weakness; mentioning her age or implying she's unable to do something will quickly anger her into doing something rash and dangerous.
History: Vallia has had only one litter of pups in her life, and all her children were lost to the infection, as well as her mate. Because of this she is very bitter on the subject of love and family, and is unlikely to ever take another mate or have future pups. However, she still has a soft spot for fox kits and young foxes, even if she tries to hide it, and she would sooner die than allow any kit to be harmed. She has a distinct hatred of the infected, and is liable to try and discover means of killing them without being infected.

Image
Name: Harving "Harvey"
Sex: Male
Age: Adult
Species: Sechuran Fox(If Zorros are okay?)
Personality: (Defining points; Mirthful, Selfish, Childish) If ever a fox followed the typical 'thief' caricature, it was Harvey. Harvey will connive and lie his way into free meals and a place to sleep whenever he can, and prefers to do as little work as possible. Just about the only real skill he has other than charisma is speed, and he uses both of these often and well. He's jovial enough to talk to, but part of it may be he's laughing at you, not with you. He is notoriously greedy and whiny- when guile and charm fails to win him the desired reaction, he'll try all manner of petulant and pitiful tactics, from blatantly snatching the item and running to pleading and pouting on the ground.
History: Harvey was never close to anyone, really, and quickly struck out on his own in youth. He thinks of himself as a loner, not a socialite, but also as a lover, and not a fighter- though that's more an excuse to avoid confrontation. The infection did not affect him much beyond giving him a greater appreciation for his speed and senses.

Age: Young adult
Gender: Vixen
Sexuality: Straight
Personality: Delphi has a fiery temper, she cannot help it. The wrong buttons are just being pushed, especially by terribly noisy kits who often get under her nerves. She might come across as irritable and harsh. But despite being hot-headed, she is sweet deep down, and is devoted to those she is loyal to. Don't be fooled by her thoughtful side — when provoked she might be the most aggressive fox you have ever met. She is funnily sarcastic, subconsciously snaps at others during one of her bad moods, and gives you a hug when you are feeling down. This vixen has a rather soft spot when it comes to her trusted companions, and her tragic past.
History: Delphi's history was paved with blood and darkness, including the death of her treasured friend due to the sickness, and her parents' abandonment. She prefers not to speak of it.

Age: Young adult
Gender: Vixen
Sexuality: Straight
Personality: Wise beyond her years, Hestia is compassionate and kind. Her heart of gold reaches out for those in need, and she strikes only when necessary. No matter what she maintains her calm and composed demeanor, even in urgent emegencies, and she has a habit of putting others before herself. She is impatient though, and cannot wait even for a mere hour. Those who learn from her have to be quick and fast in absorbing knowledge. She is daring, and perhaps a little too frank, having a knack of saying uncomfortable truths. "No one hurts my friend and gets away with it" is her saying, and she would not hesitate to hunt you down.
History: Hestia, unlike most other foxes, was born in captivity. Due to the infection, the humans left she and her family and the other animals alone in order to safe their own skins. She has a burning hatred for human beings ever since, and found a clever method to escape her prison. The youngest littermate was pierced by the sharp wire barbs on the fence, and did not get up. The other was killed by stray infected dogs, and not knowing the symptoms, her parents touched the dead kit. The illness transformed Hestia's beloved parents into insane, foreign killing machines, and she fled, heartbroken, into the Foxlands where she met others of her own kind.
