We are the remaining survivors of the ancient wolf pack that dwells in the Pine.
Most of us are killed, taken, captured by humans,
But we will survive, for we are the survivors.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Small amounts of dogs roam the streets of the human town,
if you're not careful, the dog catcher will get you!
And do not venture into the Pine.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Will you join the pack? Or the strays

------------------------------------------------------------

The Pine Forest:
The Pine is the main hunting territory for the wolves,
with a large lake concealed in the centre.
The trees gets more dense the more you venture in.
All humans are weary of the pine forest,
many unseen predators prowl within the darkness.
Dogs are considered trespassers in the Pine.

------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------

The Town:
Home of the humans that live in the area.
The animals in the region see the human's as the twolegs, bold,
furless creatures that walk upright.
There are not many humans in the town, under 20 familes,
most are hunters, gatherers or farmers.
Most dogs live in the Town, some of them are strays, some are pets.

{ ✔ } Spring: The winter snows are melting and slowly flowers have started to bloom. The wolves have lost their heavy winter coat. In spring the wolves devotes most time to digging or reshaping an existing den (both male and female wolves take part in making the den).

{ } Summer: The summer is a time of growth, the Winter coat is long gone, replaced by a short summer coat. At This time the pups are still using the den, the mother will again start hunting with the pact, the pups are never left alone. At about eight weeks of age they abandon the den and move closer to areas are more centrally located to the area that the pack is hunting.

This is a time the young wolves learn to hunt, eventually they will be part of the hunt, their place in the pack will also start to be determined.

Most of the wolves' activities take place at night, this is to avoid the heat of the day. The wolves will follow the lake around, they will also keep to the high ridges for a good view of possible prey.

{ } Autumn: The wolves now begin the winter preparations, the wolf's coat becomes deep and dense.

The pups have now been on the packs hunts, but they still have much to learn. The fall is a natural dispersal time for most wild animals. Some wolves (those at two and half years) may leave and find mates and to start their own pack.

{ } Winter: The pack will feed heavily in the fall, just before winter.
Hunting is difficult in the winter, the pack may have periods of inactivity and extra stores of fat will help them survive in these times. When spring finally comes the wolves emerge, this is a time of great excitement for the pack, often they run a round and play with each other, but after this short interaction it is time to feed.

In late winter the female wolf will go into heat, at this time the alpha pair will start a courtship. During this time, the alpha pair may move out of the pack temporarily to prevent interruption from other pack members. Also the alpha pair is almost always the only pair to mate, to avoid over population. Although in rare cases a non-alpha pair will mate.

Deers - Main food source for wolves, sometimes humans will hunt deers as well.

Moose - Uncommon around the territory, wolves are unlikely to hunt a healthy moose.

Coyotes - They will avoid wolves most times. but when encounters occur they are aggressive.

Grizzly bears - Are known to eat wolf pups, wolves will chase away bears from the den area.

Cougars - Although very rare, the cougar will not fight a wolf pack.

Foxes - Foxes have been observed stealing from wolf kills, wolves have been know to steal fox dens, wolves have been known to kill foxes, though it is rare.

Dogs - Although wolves are physiologically capable of breeding with dogs, such crossed usually happen in captive situations. Most encounters between wild wolves and dogs are aggressive in nature, it is only natural a dog would be a trespasser in a wolf's territory.
