[Ticklicous]

Mel was surprised by the noise of the helicopter. When a band of people came down her heart seemed to stop. They were not giving off a good vibe. Mel looked to Zero then to Crowe and Caila, who were both in battle position. Although Mel had other plans, so instead sent out her aggron, Steele. As the light came from the pokeball the aggron was soon standing. He snorted and shook out his metal hide. A loud screeching noise came as the plated armor rubbed together. Mel walked up to stand beside Zero. "You aren't fighting this alone." She told the girl.

Steele rose up, lifting his head and bellowing. He glared at the opposing pokemon, daring them to even take a step. They may be grouped, but with Steele's massive defense and high level, he was a powerhouse. It was likely he could wipe all four opponents with ease.

Chase saw the litleo start off with Fire Fang. "Under, Riley. Crunch." He said softly. Riley immediately charged forward, ducking at the last moment. The snubbull then prepared his jaws and hoped that upon his upward thrust he could catch the litleo. He was just under the cub's belly. If he got it, his jaws would lock together in a bite that would be rather hard to pry off.

Zero nods in recognition, the move barely noticeable under her hood, but enough. "Umbreon, Espeon, show 'em what you're made of!" The two Pokémon call out their respective battle cries, laying into the enemy Pokémon with a flurry of attacks. They take down two, and the CIPHER goons throw out another set of Pokémon- a Mareep and Houndour.

These ones seem... Different.

There's a certain viciousness to them- their eyes are hard and wild, and when they attack, a dark aura looms around them and the Houndour smashes into Espeon and sends her flying- despite the Pokémon being weaker than Espeon.

"The heck kind of attack was that?" Zero exclaims, but is refrained from saying more by the Snag Machine whirring to life and sparks with blue energy at the arrival of the other Pokémon.

"Quick, use Scratch!" The Litleo slashes under itself as fast as he can, attempting to ward off the Snubbull's impending bite.

(I honestly did not know what else to write for this one. I am sorry.)

Mel watched the battling, and Crowe ended up sweeping the two pokemon that Zero's never got. Steele stood and waited patiently, and two other pokemon were sent out. These ones seemed stronger, and it was shown after Espeon was sent flying back. Mel called out for action. "A friend in need is a friend indeed! Show 'em how a real pokemon battles, Steele!" The aggron bellowed his challenge to the houndour, and it worked to set it off.

The houndour charged the aggron, but only to get a big surprise. Steele was faster than he looked, and quickly turned to smash his tail into the houndour. It wasn't even a legitimate attack and the houndour fainted on the spot. Steele glared at the mareep in turn, daring it to try. Luckily, the mareep backed off tentatively. Steele snorted, content with lowering the ego of such a snarky pokemon. Mel looked to Zero to see what she would do.

Riley growled upon feeling claws over his cheek. He turned and jumped up to grab the tail with a round of Thunder Fang. He may be slower, but he made up for his lack of agility by his intense battling way. Should Thunder Fang hit, he could do his jaw lock and let the ever-flowing electricity go to work. Time seemed to slow as his electrified jaws went for the tail.

Zero barely notices the Houndour's fall- she's busy trying to calm the Snag Machine, which she isn't even trying to hide anymore. It sparks horribly a few times- the palm spreading and summoning a Pokeball. More blue electricity, and the Pokeball goes flying out of her hand and crashing into the offending Mareep- sucking it in despite it being a trainer Pokémon.

All movement stops at the ball shakes once, twice, three times, and ting.

The CIPHER goons stay still for a few moments more- before latching onto the ladders in a mad scramble and disappearing as soon as they arrived.

Zero hesitates for just a moment, staring at the Pokeball, before turning and running over to her fallen Espeon. "Espeon! Are you alright?" The Pokémon was hurt, and fairly badly.

Blaze lets out a sharp yelp of pain, the Snubbull's jaws clamping tight around his tail.

"Hang in there Blaze! Use Ember!" The lion Pokémon twists in the Snubbull's grip, blasting an ember attack directly into it's face.

Mel watched the houndour go down and the goons run for it. They left the houndour though! She quickly ran to it, it was a male. The houndour whined in pain, not even growling as Mel placed a hand on him. He was just so confused, so awkward feeling. Mel made small soft sounds to calm him. The houndour eventually allowing Mel to apply a Potion to him. Suddenly he sat up, his head still hanging though. He was starting to feel a bit better at least. Mel looked to Zero. "So, who were those people?" She asked before tossing a Super Potion over to the girl.

Riley felt the Ember in his face, but still he hung tight, his jaws like an unbreakable vice. Electricity still pumped from his mouth. Rule of thumb when battling the snubbull evolution line, never get bit. Once a jaw is locked, it is locked. Unless the litleo could detatch and grow a new tail, tough luck. Riley growled and shook his head vigerously, sending more electricity.

Zero catches the Super Potion without even looking, eyes locked on her wounded friend. She gives her Espeon the Potion swiftly, and she sits up and gently licks Zero on the face. A tension visibly drains out of her shoulders, and she stands and walks to the caught- stolen?- Mareep's Pokeball.

"Heck if I know. They said CIPHER, though. If memory serves, that was the criminal organization directly responsible for making Shadow Pokémon." She picks up the Pokeball with her right hand- no real point hiding the Snag Machine now- and scans it with a small, transparent blue card-like device. She shows the screen to Melody- a picture of the caught Mareep is there- surrounded by a bubbling, boiling darkness. A set of odd moves appears on the screen- Shadow Rush, Shadow Mist, Thunderbolt and Thundershock. She turns it down to the Houndour- very narrowly avoiding his teeth- and sure enough, the same dark, shadowy aura clouds his picture as well. Same Shadow moves, with Ember and Flamethrower thrown in.

"Blaze, Fire Fang!" The Litleo clamps down on Riley's side- a continuous stream of fire to match the electricity.

Melody listened to what the girl said and frowned. "That is just terrible..." She said with a grimace. Then she looked to the houndour, his eyes seemed to ask for help. Mel then made a decision. "Zero, I'm going to help you stop CIPHER." She declared. She stood up and looked to Zero, offering her hand to shake. "I think it would be worthwhile to team up." She suggested. Truthfully, it was. Mel had quite powerful pokemon, and they could be a great help in battles to come.

Riley snarled as he was bit by Fire Fang, but refused to let go. His Intimidate ability reduced the attack of the litleo. Riley pumped more electricity through his jaws. He again shook his head vigorously.

Zero hesitates, then nods. CIPHER had messed with the wrong mercenary- attacking her Pokémon was unforgivable. She'd heard rumors of CIPHER returning- it's what made her go for the Snag Machine in the first place- but now it seemed she was going to be on the right side of the law for once. She stows the blue card- the Snag Machine is still throwing a fit, it doesn't seem happy that she hadn't caught Houndour- but she ignores it and moves to where one of the Grunts had dropped a Pokeball- Houndour's, conveniently. "There's got to be a way to change them back from Shadow Pokémon to normal ones. I've got a safehouse nearby- we can do some research there, at least. It's about a day's walk."

Blaze keeps on with his Fire Fang- the Subbull had better have a burn by now- and his Rivalry ability was negating the Intimidate.

(Can they just tie or something because this is ridiculous.)

Mel had her hand on the houndour's back, the dog seemed to be suddenly attached to her. He growled when Zero took the pokeball of his, but silenced himself when Mel told him to. She then listened to everything, and about research. So, a nearby place? Then she had an idea. "A one day walk..." She echoed to herself. She also recalled another thing. "What about flying then?" Mel asked, taking a pokeball and releasing Hickory. The charizard blinked down at the strangers before him.

Riley sent one last powerful jolt before falling out. He was done with. Although his jaws still remained clamped shut. Chase went over to pry off the snubbull, eventually recalling him. He nodded to the man once and headed off. No socializing today.

Litleo gains +2 levels for winning, and snubbull +1 for loss.

Zero hands the Houndour's Pokeball to Melody- he seemed to like her anyway- and says, "You can't get to it from the air. You'd have to land about ten miles out- otherwise you'll miss it." She says, fiddling with the Mareep's Pokeball. "Dolly," she says suddenly, as if that makes any sense whatsoever, and puts the Pokeball on her belt.

Leon nods in turn, before turning to his victorious Pokémon and ruffling him behind the ears affectionately, swiftly healing the damage done with a potion or two.

He stands again, and prepares to continue down the route, when he sees a lone Pikachu on the side of the road. He looks at his Pokedex quickly- it was the same level as Blaze. Figuring there was no reason not to, and because he could use another Pokémon if he was going to continue on his journey, he sends Blaze up to the Pikachu- best to try diplomacy first.
