[Startedraining]

"How did you meet her?" Edgar asked, relief washing over his face, because he hadn't offended her.

[Sphye]

"I think I was, what, thirteen or fourteen? She was actually a gift," Mara started. She strode over to the bushes in which the colorful rune was hiding, quickly scooping the dragon up before she had a chance to protest.
"The idea of being a wandering rune bearer was really exciting, you know? I had tried to find a rune of my own, but to no avail. I scared so many sparrow runes away in my desperation," she laughed, petting Canvas to try to keep her still. The dragon's talons flailed as she tried to find a perch upon her bearer's arm.

Edgar smiled at the thought of Mara trying so desperately to bond with a sparrow rune. "I can imagine it must've been quite difficult to even sneak up on them."
He stepped over to his friend and reached out to touch Canvas, "Who gave her to you?"

[Sphye]

"It was difficult sometimes," she said casually, "but other times the little things were just so oblivious. I never got close enough to catch one without it flying away, though."

"I guess a lot of people were involved in small ways in helping me to get Canvas," the bearer mused. "Picking just one name isn't really accurately possible."

[Startedraining]

Edgar nodded, "I only have one bond, do you have more than one?"

He looked back at the rune drake rolling around onvthe ground, about the size of a medium dog. He was glad he was strong enough to carry him around all day, the Pygmy had no problems lazing about all day. "I think one is enough for me. I don't think I could bond to more."

[Sphye]

"I think I'm bound to both Canvas and Daria," she said, sounding uncertain. Thinking, she amended, "Well, them and the little egg."

"Really? I think that you seem like you'd bond well with a sleipnir, honestly," Mara mused, tilting her head to the side in an attempt to keep her bangs from her eyes.

[Startedraining]

"There doesn't seem to be a slip that I take to, other than the horned one. I have two of them, they're in my homestead, but I'm not sure if I'd want to be the one to ride them... You know how those people hunt drakes with slips and dires. I'm a little wary of manifesting them and inviting bad energy to my home."

Edgar stretched his arms above his head, letting out a soft grunt. He looked back to Arian and smiled idly.
"I have plenty of direwolf companions."
