Does anyone have any kind of parrot as a pet? Do you like parrots? Want to talk about them?

I don't know if this counts as a parrot, but I have a little budgie named Kiwi that I've had for about a half a year. I love the little guy to death, but I've been worried lately since I found out something he's been doing since I got him (fluffing up) can be a sign of illness. I've got a vet appointment scheduled soon, but I'm just so worried.

Budgies do indeed count as parrots.

It's sad to hear that he may be sick D: I hope the little guy is okay.

Oh I loooove parrots! One day I wish to won one by myself. But they are such expensive. The aunt of a friend owns about 30 different parrot, big and small ones, and they are totally cute! They can tell you the phone number of their owner, if they get lost somehow, and someone finds them, they can tell to who they belong and how to contact them xD

My mum owns two Red Pennants that she bought from the pet shop I work at. She has had the female a bit longer than the male, as she only wanted the one originally. But the female got a bit depressed (as they were in the same cage together in the shop and we think she might have missed him, as she cheered up when we bought him home) and my colleague convinced my mum to get the male as well, lol. We were going to hand-tame them, but it's not easy- especially now there are two of them in there. So now we might breed them next year and hand rear one or two of the babies.
Not sure on that yet though. As I know hand-rearing birds isn't easy as my friend did it with a budgie and finch during collage. We'd leave them with the parents for a bit first and then take them after a couple of weeks I think.

They are called Scarlet (Female) and Cobalt (Male) and they are beautiful! They make a right pair as well. Scarlet is considerably quieter than Cobalt and he plays much more than she does, though she has her moments, heh.
Cobalt wags his tail from side to side sometimes when he chirps and it's really adorable.

Awesome! Cockatiel's are cute. Had one at the pet shop i work in that for some reason really didn't like me, lol. Kept hissing at me, haha. It was really funny though. Shall have to look up that type though, as i haven't seen one of those. We get greys and coloured's in the shop.

Meanwhile mums Red Pennants have......errrrr.....got a bit friendly, haha. It's breeding season and they are well, you get my drift. Don't think any babies shall result this year though. Still think he's too young. They are just practicing, lol!

Not my photos, but this is what cinnamon white face morphs look like ^w^

My cockatiel hissed at me for weeks and is still hesitant to walk up to me, but he doesn't bite and he loves scratches. He also loves to chew on my glasses. Sometimes my dog will try to play with him, but he ends up biting my dog and he gets so confused. "Why did small puppy bite me??" cx

its been a little rough lately, sorry for the reply that is a few days late

my birds passed away from some kind of toxin i couldn't identify :< i cleared away everything and hunted down all possible sources, and after making sure my home was secure, I bought 2 more parakeets. eventually, i will get another cockatiel, but for now, I have Quark and Odo.

Quark is a very dark gray parakeet and I have no idea what kind of morph he is! Odo is all yellow and I think his eyes are tinted red, so he's maybe an albino green. I'll have to take a better look to be sure. :>
