FORMATTING AND PRETTINESS IN PROGRESS~ I wouldn't leave you darlings without it. Feel free to post, critique, or discuss! I love answering questions about my characters and talking about lore in general ^^
⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯An Enriching Homestead Experience⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯
The Homestead
[x] | [x] | [x]
Picture a stately High Victorian Gothic mansion of a timeless dark brick, with sharp lines balanced by flowing filigree.
Now picture a large acreage, fenced in some places, with many large shade trees and tall grass. Sleipnir tromp through it, snorting away the flies and grazing here and there. Elkrin browse in the nearby forest, occasionally popping out from the cover of the trees to nibble low-hanging berries. Various stables and shelters dot the area towards the house. Large, ornate structures of metal and glass rise above the building, and griffins of every color fly in and out of one. Walking further, past the house and what you see now are obviously a rookery and conservatory, you hear the telltale sound of waves crashing on a beach. The ocean churns far below you, eating away at a black cliff as it has done for centuries. The cliff slopes to your left until it is the same level as the vast beach. Sea servals pick at tide pools and snatch up tasty treats with their claws, while otterlings dip happily in the dark water. Above you, a gigantic whoosh sends your clothes flapping and the grass bent until it nearly touches the ground. You look up just in time to see a huge, majestic rune drake glide over the fields, roaring as it returns to its lair in the distant mountains.
The Manor
The interior of the Hadley manor is just as intriguing. Dark wood and classical furnishings denote the (literal) rich history of the building. Its rooms seem endless, though some have uses that are easily ascertainable. In the East Wing library, Lucius hunches over a scientific guide he is illustrating, surrounded by the smaller creatures his partner has collected. The loft he calls his "office" is tucked into the rafters; the sloping ceilings and exposed wood beams give it a cozy feel. Other rooms include various guest rooms, galleries, two music rooms, and several dining rooms. A grand ballroom on the bottom floor once hosted many parties, though now it's more of a lounge area for the larger indoor pets.
The People
[x] | [x]
Lucius and Florian have a long and complex history. They are lovers of a sort, but it goes beyond that. Soulmates is a bit flowery...but along those lines. Both have taken (and do take) other partners, but always come back to each other. Florian tries to fix the mess he (accidentally!) made while Lucius mostly stays home, tends to the homestead, and catalogues all the wonderful creatures his Flori brings back.
