A crow alights upon a tree, deadened and cracking from an untold time of scorch and frost. It caws, a harsh sound, and in a distant pasture, a creature raises a fog-obscured head and calls back.

Welcome.

MASSIVE WIP PLS EXCUSE THE DUST

So. Heh. You know on the map, where the darkness is, and how it's overtaken some islands? Yeah. So that's where I put my homestead a while before the whole "freeing oblivion" incident, and so I've decided to run with it.

Gwen's pets
Fennec's pets

Nothing in life is truly ours, but these creatures are much further from ours than most. Entrusted in our care by their respective owners, they stay confined to the islands northernmost corner, as far from the tainted magic of Oblivion as possible.

Ancients

The Ancients do not reside upon the island. Instead, their shrines lay scattered through the forests and plains, waiting and waiting in the hopes that someday they will be blessed.

To the Ancient of Galaxies, a medium rock, said to have plunged from the heavens on a quest back to earth. Within the nooks and crannies are hidden charms, shaped to be akin to the stars and the planets and the suns of the nebulas. Creatures come and go freely from this shrine, but always, always, leave offerings.

To the Gravekeeper, a simple stump, taken from a simple pine. Adorning it are bits of candy and flashing lights, harnessed by magic to be bound to their place until their master releases them again. Young creatures often steal the sweet treats, and occasionally, they will spy humorous red eyes watching from the shadows, amusement flickering within.

To the Ancient of the Past, a stone atop two other stones, upon which lie few objects. A rose, wilting, always replaced after a week. A pocketwatch, gold chain hanging loosely off the edge of the roughly carved slab. And a fossil, an old old bone from before anyone remembers, to serve as a reminder. Not that anyone remembers. The past is easily forgotten, they say, and unfortunately the Ancient seems no different. (The fact that it's well-hidden may also play a role in the sparse decor, frankly, but it's unwise to move a shrine.)

To the Yin Ancient, a nest woven of cherry branches, their blooms perpetually preserved.

and then shrine descriptions stuff
