Behind the scenes with the coming event and what we're doing

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on what's going on behind the scenes and when our spring event will be available. I realize that the last event was quite a bit delayed, and this event has been pushed back as well.

For the past month, I've been working on rebuilding the Bazaar and Adoption pages, as well as all the code that runs behind them, just as I've already done for the Event system and the Codex. The reason this was necessary was so that we could integrate Eldsona items and item packs properly into our Adoption system, and make it scalable for anything else we want to give you guys in the future.

Essentially, since Eldemore was the project that first taught me how to code, our code base is pretty messy, especially in some of the ol' early 2014 areas. So most of it is geared specifically towards giving away pets and only pets. Anything else, like items, the stone of random, and the Easter releases are just kind of shoehorned into the code, and it is really difficult to work with. That's why I'm updating it piece by piece so that we can do more stuff on this site and provide more features. It's been the main, ongoing effort this year to get this site's code up to snuff so we can keep it running while making it more modern and malleable. In fact, the next section I plan to rework is Trading, so that you'll be able to trade Eldsona items, have a better layout, and an easier time working with your trades (that will be coming in a few month's time).

Because of this endeavor, we're looking at kicking off our spring event in the first week of May. These types of delays are only temporary, and will not become a regular thing. Our events keep getting bigger and better, and this one will be no exception. We just want to put our best foot forward and make sure that this event will have more goodies for everyone, and be the best that it can be!

I think I speak for everyone when I say it's not a big deal to have the event put off. We all really appreciate what you do, what all of the admins do, for the site. And really appreciate being kept informed on what's going on behind the scenes and whatnot. <3
