The tokens are for the B-Day event trade-ins. You'll be able to trade them in for pets as the event progresses in the same area as where you get the Dhol'kai. New pets/items will be added at rollover throughout the duration of the event either for free (like the Dhol'kai) or for varying numbers of tokens.
