- ➢ "A rather peaceful morning, don't you think?" a voice abruptly broke the silence the dawn brought. A hefty frame colored in thick flannel of a bleeding plaid color approached with a confident step, leaves and twigs crunching underneath his boots. Dark hair loosely dressed into a braid and laid undisturbed over his shoulder and over his chest. Occupying the space a couple feet from the Alpha, Dimitri sat cross-legged and looked to the other in clear-minded awareness. The morning chill did little effect to his weathered skin, unfazed by it as he began cutting a vibrant red apple in halves, one of the few he had left in his own personal stash.
"Hmm, yes, there's something riveting about the air here." he hummed deeply, pausing only to look around. His keen eyes thoroughly scanning their surroundings, an exciting chill crept up his spine as there was just something mysterious and spiritual about the forest.
Eyes returning to Brooke, he was quiet for a few moments before giving a soft huff and a crooked smirk, outstretching his hand to offer a slice to her. "Here. You look like you need it; you'd be surprised how such a small thing can give you so much strength." Dimitri gave a petty smile then glanced away, he looked and acted well-rested and ready to take on everything that the day threw at him, and while that was indeed true, weariness was slowly beginning to take him too. His bones and joints where gradually grow stiff and sore from the constant traveling and exposure to the cold. But never would it exhaust his acts of selflessness and sharing, which weren't unheard of but they weren't necessarily common either.

- ➢ Such tranquility and ease did the call of a new dawn bring, as well as bringing with it the many songs of birds and the stirring of other wildlife. Fresh and crisp was the morning air, vaguely hinted with the clean scent of pine as a light, cool breeze still clung and rippled by. Teasing the trees and foliage, a drizzle of dew coated the earth with sparkling brilliance, displaying a cascade of colors when the sun's scattered rays hit them just right.
Such a morning was one that this petite healer took the time to savor, pausing momentarily in her own duties of tending to her herbs and plants. With a distant longing in her eyes, she stared off into the forest at nothing in particular but merely to take pleasure in the silence of the moment. Few and far between were these near surreal occurrences, one of the few times everything seemed to be at peace. If not just for a short time.
"Hmm, after I finish with these I need to head upstairs to tend with the others..." Aria muttered thoughtfully to herself, carefully working out her schedule for that day. The ones she kept upstairs in the small greenhouse she had specifically built for her medical uses weren't particularly from around these parts, and as a result called for very special treatments. The ones she worked on now could be found within the very forest that surrounded their home and were accustom to the climate and nature, unlike the ones she kept separated in the greenhouse.
Setting aside a small watering can, Aria subconsciously dusted off the her hands and clothes, deciding for that day to wear some simple jeans and a worn, oversized shirt good for when she was gardening. Carefully pushing her hair out of her face with the back of her hand, still being mildly caked with dried dirt and fertilizer, Aria gave an exasperated sigh and heading inside to properly wash her hands. It was still fairly earlier, perhaps too early for some, but she was an early bird and still had lots to get done. "I should periodically rotate the plants so they get enough sunlight, not to mention need to do some pot transferring and then the normal routine of feed, watering, preening and check of unwanted insects--" she rambled off to herself for a good fifteen minutes. Deciding she'd do that in an hour or so, Aria proceeded to cleaning her hands and drying them before heading off to the kitchen.
She was honestly not one to eat a lot, sometimes not eating enough or not at all, and that morning was no different. Resorting to just getting a glass of water and leaning back against the counter, sipping gingerly and taking in the stillness of nobody else being around. However, with the aid of her keen senses of her canine side, she was able to tell right away that she hadn't been the only one awake. It was fading though, the scent wasn't as potent as it was normally. 'Hmmm, he must be out...' she thought, staring down at her faint reflection in the water, a spark of something entered her eyes before disappearing as soon as it came. Clearing her throat, Aria shrugged her shoulders as if that fleeting, uncertain moment was nothing important and carefully held her glass to her lips with both hands.
Finishing it up, she set the cup in the sink and stood there motionless for a time, staring off aimlessly as her mind buzzed with much activity.

- ➢ Drifting between the borders of his subconscious and reality, Shay grew more and more bitter. Exhausted he was from his lack of proper sleep, or more so from the trouble of falling asleep, as he laid there curled up in his wolf form. Body quivering from the cold, something he was never use to nor did he particular like, it was the main culprit to his problems. Lazily opening one eye, grumbling and growling under his breath in distaste for the coming of morning. Every little sound he could hear, no matter how hard he flattened his ears back against his furry, black skull, he could still hear and it didn't at all help him in his growing foul mood.
Exhaling heavily, lifting his head up simply to give a big, toothy yawn and then lay it back down. Disinterested in the conversations and growing signs of life within the camp, he wanted nothing to do with it. All he wanted was some well deserved sleep. Opening his eyes halfway again at the sound of rustling leaves nearby, spying a brief glimpse of grey and silver fur as one of the other pack members moseyed about the grounds in their wolf form. Shay huffed before tucking his head closer to his body, black fur rippling from time to time either by the wind or by response to some itch he didn't want to bother with.
'This is stupid... hiding and staking out in the cold like we're some criminals on the run, just stupid...' he thought in annoyance, muzzle twitching and threatening to pull up to reveal fangs that have seen their fair share of bloodshed and flesh. All of this angered him and the more he held it in, the worse it got.
