The town behind the group soon disappeared behind them as they headed on with new supplies. The flat land seemed to stretch on for a long time showing no sign of stopping. After years of travelling this was usual. Towns few and far apart. Wilderness stretched on for miles. The sun high in the sky you have plenty of travel time. Your tale begins.

the gods are us // forms

Postby taerin » Thu Mar 31, 2016 1:35 am

        name: fylakas
gender: genderless, but often depicted as a male, although he is also thought to have no form at all.
        god of: knowledge

appearance: seen as a human, fylakas has pale-colored skin, and his nose is narrowed. his eye color fades from an orange gradient to a light yellow color. similarly, fylakas has wavy blonde hair that has a slight fading gradient, starting from the top, dark to light. his slightly messy hair reaches up to his shoulders. fylakas is quite thin, but he is physically fit, though he always complains that he is too tired to go on. his clothing usually varies to what he feels is necessary to wear, and he has no favorite piece of clothing.

interestingly, the humans have thought that if fylakas were to actually have a form, he'd have dark and evil features as most usually think of fylakas as a god who would do harm with his endless library of knowledge.

personality: fylakas is neither good nor bad. however, some say he will reach out to humans he is interested in and tempt them to pacts to be able learn forbidden knowledge. most who have followed his commands have either gone mad or disappeared. fylakas does as he pleases, and does not like being ordered around. if someone wants something from him, he will expect something given back to him.

        crush: none.
        lover: none.
other: (kind of?) based on herma-mora/hermaeus mora. hhh hopefully this form is okay?? or should i have posted in the discussions forum?

Exalsis yawns and stretches her arms out as she puts a few small trinkets she snatched on the way out of the city into her pockets after inspecting them. She looks around bored, her mind racing through ideas to liven up the group when she notices a caterpillar on a tree. Grinning she grabs the little green caterpillar swiftly so no one will notice.

As it wiggles and writhes in her hand she looks slyly to the group wondering who she should make into a victim. She continues walking casually keeping the caterpillar out of sight. She quickly tosses the caterpillar up to make it land on someone randomly; making it seem like it fell out of a tree. This would make things more fun for the day.

(A little late to the party, haha)

    Name: Kovan
    Gender: Male
Title: God of Illusions, Perception, sometimes God of Deceit and Chaos, and The Snake in some religions.

Personality: A capricious individual, Kovan’s personality and interests shifts and alters like the nature of his power. One day he would be spreading havoc and destruction amongst the human world, the next he would be contented with simply perfecting his next illusion. Before the loss of his power, his appearance would morph constantly, based on his every whim. However, everyone who ever met Kovan would agree that he has a constant love for trickery and deception, and would always enjoy a good prank, even if it is done to him.

Kovan also has a tendency to appear in places where he does not belong, usually in a dangerous place or situation. Some may call it courage, others call it foolishness, but usually it is the fault of his insatiable curiosity. He feels compelled to find out what he does not know, to delve into forbidden places or summon a monstrous beast just to observe it up close. Fortunately, he usually manages to weasel his way out using his powers.

Despite what many cultures believe, Kovan is not of a malicious nature, but merely mischievous and immature at times. However, no matter what his intentions are, it is undeniable that Kovan's actions may result in terrible consequences, and many humans hate him and despise him. In many of their legends, he was the evil force that had to be punished or vanquished by heroes or Major gods.

Appearance: In many cultures, Kovan is depicted with slitted eyes, and a body that is half man and half animal, usually reptiles or birds. In some cultures, he may have bat wings or horns, and sometimes even depicted as a woman. In reality, he does not have a fixed appearance as a god. He cloaks himself in illusions so that he could alter his appearance based on his ever-changing desires.

Kovan’s human appearance, however, is surprisingly plain and normal. He appears to be a man in his early twenties, average in height and stature, though rather on the thin side. His features are unremarkable and forgettable, and people who do not know him well would not be able to pick him out in a crowd. His dark brown hair is short and neatly brushed back, his eyes are a shade of brown so dark that they appear almost black. When he lost his power, he found himself wearing a white T-shirt and beige pants, to complete the whole look. The best illusions are often those that are the most believable.

    Crush: None yet
    Lover: None yet
Other: Due to over reliance on his power as a god, he is rather useless in many things as a human, such as in a fight. Kovan is also somewhat vain and prideful, evident from his changing appearances.

    (Welcome to the Roleplay.)
Athtar looked back at the town one last time. It wouldn't a while before they came across another one they knew. They put their bag of supplies onto their back and continued walking. As they walked they felt something hit their head. Hey reached up and grabbed the caterpillar that had fallen onto their head.
"How did you get here little one?" They whispered to the caterpillar and took them to a tree and placed them up on the lowest hanging branch. They watched the caterpillar for a few seconds to ensure it would not fall then started to walk down the path again.

fylakas, as usual, was at the very back of the group. it was mostly on purpose, say, this was perhaps 90% of his reason and the other 10% was because he did not like walking (he really was not used to it) and would've rather preferred staying as a god, if only he hadn't been exiled, and summoning his poor mortal victims to carry him around so he could go around his library and pick out some books to re-read. now he was just dragging his feet and making noise from his shoes, which felt uncomfortable. fylakas looked at the other "humans" in front of him, and his eye twitched. we look so pitiful, don't we? and that included himself. in this mortal realm, he wished he could've gotten something that could carry him, like a horse or an animal, so he wouldn't have to feel the tightening of his legs and his sore back and his hurting hips, not to mention on their past journeys pretty much everybody ignored his complaints to rest under that tree that looked pretty good to rest in, and there weren't any mud or animal scat. their journey had just started now, so he wasn't having those kinds of pains, at least for now. in this kind of enviroment, fylakas could not read a book, or else he would either trip or hit something. he had gotten enough of all the travels and he was getting sick and tired of it, and so today he was bored wih nothing to do. might as well speed up, he thought, and fastened his pace so for at once fylakas was mixed in with the others.

gosh i added so much useless info in my first post lmao //

Exalsis let's out a sigh of disappointment as Athtar had a very unremarkable reaction to the random caterpillar.

She noticed fast approaching footsteps and observed Fylakas walking faster and keeping up with the group instead of dragging his feet. Interesting. She smiles slyly and slows down yawning quietly and stretching allowing herself to drift to the back of the group. Once towards the back she began looking around for something to do. She notices the group approaching a low-hanging branch with some nuts growing; squirrels gnawing on some of the nuts they picked.

      Perfect.

Exalsis then waits a little bit walking slow, waiting for Fylaka's to pass under the branch, then she'd run and leap to knock the squirrels down. Of course when Fylaka's would panic from the squirrels that'd fall right on him she'd simply say she didn't see them and only wanted a fresh snack. The idea was perfect and she had to keep herself from smiling and revealing that she was up to something.

(An old proverb: allow the goddess of thievery to get bored and she will make it rain squirrels 83)

naturally, the god of knowledge would have to watch every single thing because it was basically what he did when he wasn't exiled from his godhood— to watch human mortals and make tempting pacts with ones he liked, only to become a servant of fylakas. he was especially wary of those gods who were known to be of trouble, and noticing exalsis walking slower, he suspected something and narrowed his eyes. it wouldn't be any good to ignore his suspicions and fall right to a trap, or ask directly since she probably would not answer and probably would answer with the "oh, i'm just tired" excuse, which fylakas would not believe as he knew most troublemakers had a lot of energy, planning out pranks and tricks and stuff. his one solution was just to slow down and walk side-by-side, same pace, same movement, just like a marching group. and this he did. fylakas was already in a kind of bad mood today so he whispered out to exalsis, with a voice only loud enough for exalsis to hear, "if you dare to pull anything on me, i'll slit your throat, sneak thief." fylakas had no weapon on him right now, and it was just a threat to scare her off. if he were serious, fylakas would do it with a stick. it wouldn't work, wouldn't it?

        Áo Què | 1

        Postby ιηƒιηιтє. » Sun Apr 03, 2016 2:17 am

Áo Què meandered along somewhere in the middle of the "pack", dressed in a simple linen shirt and leather breeches, barefoot and hair still floating around her shoulders despite the heat. A brilliant red dress -silk, from the looks of it- was just peaking out of the corner of a ratty messenger bag she had picked up a little while back. Her expression rested somewhere between bored and tired, her eyes slightly dulled as she fought against the heat.

She was either oblivious or uninterested to the antics ensuing around her, especially Exalsis' little tricks. Her gaze slid over to the other woman a few times, but didn't seem to care about the woman's pranks. Caterpillars were fun and all, but they weren't that extreme.

However, when Fylakas decided to turn on Exalsis for whatever reason, her curiosity was definitely piqued. Her slouch straightened somewhat, her eyes a titch wider.

"So... What did she do?" Áo Què asked, accent heavy as the language of the area rolled off her tongue, sounding quite drowsy despite the circumstance.

"I think it is not good to kill her for her tricks. That is too harsh." She added, a slight frown marring her features. She felt positively illiterate, unable to truly convey her thoughts in this language; not many of her followers had settled here, so she felt no need to assimilate. She didn't regret it, but she did regret that she had left her homeland; everything sounded strange, felt strange, tasted strange. She was among strangers, most of them wild and unruly. Strangers who couldn't pronounce her name right. Áo Què turned away, mind drifting, the others' shenanigans no longer holding her attention despite having questioning it a moment prior.
