"They would probably think you are a perverted man, Cody. I mean, I've been talking about you since I was four. ", she laughed a bit. "But still", she was pulled against him as he put an arm around her. "Cody, your like a brother to me. You know that?"

"An immensely perverted man..." Cody agreed, "but my shadow, it's... coming out, I think I'm becoming a real thing, not something imaginary. I was going to hurt Caleb, I felt him, and before..." Cody hushed, "before I didn't even know what a shirt felt like."

He smiled, "You're my little sister, Shady..."

Shady laughed a bit more, then ruffled his hair. "Your materializing", she says quietly. "How irritating was that? Not being able to feel anything?", she seemed interested in that, specifically, now.

"The only difference I can explain it in is..." Cody lifted his hand with his finger up, "Go like this."

Shady was confused on what he was saying. An abrupt thunder clap made Shady jump, knocking her head against Cody's chin. He didn't feel pain, but she did. She groaned and looked up, rubbing her head a bit. "What're you doing? ", she saw his finger up.

Cody cleared this throat, "Alright, now, place your finger... like this." he pressed his index finger against hers, so they made kind of a triangle-thing.


"Take your fingers, and do this," he used his other hand's index and thumb to stroke downwards on the triangle shape.

"It's like, I can feel it, but it's strange, like I'm feeling it and not feeling it now."

Shady did as he told, looking perplexed yet interested. She smiled a bit and did as he showed her. "But you can. ", she points out. "That means something. That means your becoming real. And when your angry, you are able to pick things up. Obviously, with what happened with Caleb. ", she went back to the memory, shuddering. "We should visit him. I haven't seen him in a while. Since..you know. "

"I'm not... I don't really want to. He's not believed in me since... God knows when. Shady, what if he hates me? What if he tells your parents?" Cody began to get anxious, as though the thought of even being near Caleb destroyed his self-worth.

"After what he did to you, as well... I don't think I'm, ready to see him."

"Hes probably just scared, Cody", she raised her voice only slightly so he could hear her. "He wont tell my parents. He'll look just as crazy as I do", she runs a hand through her hair and simply shrugged in defeat. "Fine, fine. What do you want to do, then?",

"You know what I want to do? I want to learn Russian", The corner of Shady's mouth quirked up. "It seems so cool, ya know? Do you know any languages?"

"No, not another one, but perhaps I could learn. I want to learn Arabic, the writing is so... pretty." Cody sighs, "I like it a lot."
