1x1 with Secret and Sting

He nodded once, green eyes bobbing in the shadows, then they went out. No sign of another being was left in the cave, save for a few ancient bones near the opposite wall and a dead leaf. Just to be safe, Answeren shifted into something darker, settling for a jet-black house cat. A little less controllable for his taste, but safety was better than comfort, especially with Thinners around. Quietly, and without even breathing, Answeren listened intently for any signs of danger.

(Let me ask you a question, do you want the Thinners to come? xD)

(Not yet, why?)

(Because I'm debating in my head whether Jinx should see a little woodland creature or a thinner)

(Do whatever you want! I can well with either one.)

Jinx narrowed her eyes and looked carefully into the forest around her until suddenly a squirrel fell down out of a tree. Scowling at the animal that had almost scared her out of her wits Jinx came back inside the cave, her very being radiating annoyance. "It was just a stupid squirrel."

"Ah. Well, if it isn't a murderous, bloodthirsty beast, then it's fine," he said calmly, changing back into a jackal and relaxing. His annoyance had receded, though to is dismay it seemed to have been given to Jinx now. "Want me to catch it for you?"

Jinx shrugged "I won't be able to eat more tonight but if I dry it I can eat it tomorrow." Shifting back into her cat shape Jinx snuggled up against her backpack, watching Answeren closely. Her ears perked up to try and find the sounds of the squirrel, she found nothing.

Answeren also listened closely, large ears swiveling, but his results were the same. The pest was gone, no point in hunting. He shrugged. "It's gone now, may as well stay in here until the sun comes up again and all of us can see," the shifter said, curling up in a tight ball, hidden in the shadows.
