Anikalo stood in astonishment that her own brother would be so naive as to actually grab the attention of two IAF officers. The exact people they were supposed to be running from. Kay noticed the boy speaking in a calm voice to Aralio. She too began to relax about the situation and felt light on her feet. Kay barely even noticed Aralio's fire dying down and flickering from time to time.
Finally, Anikalo realized what was happening and violently shook her head. She snapped out of the influence of the man's voice and knew his power. "Aralio! Don't listen to him!" It was no use. Her brother was distracted by the soothing voice of the newcomer and even began swaying.
"What's the problem Kay? Why not just pet your moustache and sit down?" he said in a lulled tone and giggled foolishly afterwards. Anikalo was furious at that point. She couldn't convince her brother to snap out of it, so she'd have to drag him out of it. A quick look to Demari was enough talk for him to know what to do.
Demari thrust out his hands, palms facing each other, and a giant beam of complete darkness shot from them. They quickly swallowed the alleyway and everything in it. Anikalo felt a hand grab her wrist and knew it was Demari. He quickly led her through the darkness, grabbing Aralio on the way. With Demari's excellent sight in his own darkness, they easily avoided the officers and raced deeper into the winding backroads. The darkness stopped at the end of alley so the group could easily make their way without the help of the older boy.
The man's power must have worn off, because Aralio was gladly running with them and didn't seem as relaxed as before. Shortly after, Rashcleigh came bounding out of the blackened alley, running right beside them.
