Welcome to confinement, kid. Or what they consider 'confinement', but do you want to know the truth? It's torture. It's been at least eight years since we were sent here, segregated here. Why? We scared the humans, terrified them. So they pushed us out of their way with cheap tricks. "It'll be better for you, your kind will be able to use your powers freely, fly freely, and do everything we do on a daily basis, just away from us." Their argument was so flawed. Why hadn't we seen it before? We'd fallen right into their trap. Now we're not free, we're just humankind's slaves.
They sent us to these camps, you see? Because we're different, we have something they don't. Wings. The camp was located in a place similar to the size of New York, however, thick walls surrounded the vast amount of area keeping us inside, and them outside. At first, it was okay. We really did live freely, on our own without having to worry about scaring someone. The walls around us were considered good, protecting us from the humans who still saw us as monsters who needed to be destroyed. We still felt free since we could simply just... spread our wings and fly over the walls.. Everything good, however, doesn't last long.. Barely three years in they began to force rules on us. We had a curfew, to be in homes before dark, camera's were set up around our city and anyone out past this 'curfew' was imprisoned. Machine gun turrets were set up along the tall walls, and mercilessly shot anyone who attempted to fly over and leave. As time passed our freedoms diminished. President Wulfram the man who sent us here, to 'protect us', paid us a visit.

Image
Wulfram bombed almost half of our city, turning it to rubble and ash, before beginning to build manufacturing plants in places homes once were, and and turning what was salvageable land into harvesting fields. Men and women of our winged race had to work for the humans out side of the walls like maids, it was one of the only ways to get food cards, if they were lucky. They were turned into household servants, wings clipped like pets. Anyone who wasn't sold off was forced into working around the harvesting fields and other miserable jobs. We were paid in food cards, money wasn't even a object anymore. As expected, our city fell into a depression and the atmosphere became dark as we were soon worked like we were animals, following President Wulfram's every command. However, everything was about to change. Eight teenagers have taken notice to the suffering. Not only have they noticed, but they want to strike back and bring freedom to their kind. Eight teenagers wanting to create a revolution? Silly, isn't it? Well, not entirely, considering all eight of them have a special weapon. All born with a remarkable gene that gave each one of them control over various elements as well as wings. They're alone, the only ones known to have this power. Though, they have only just discovered these incredible abilities, unnoticed by the President. Now, they find themselves meeting in the strangest of times, with the thought of revolution and hope planted in their minds, they must put themselves through ruthlessly training to keep the powers under control, while they secretly plan a revolution in hopes of showing President Wulfram who the real boss is.

Name: Jessi Collins
Age: Eighteen
Gender: Female
Element: Fire
Abilities: Man, ain't she hot? Well, not only that, but really..
she's physically hot! I'm sure we can all guess what she's
capable of, but damn, it's quite powerful! She's able to
create, manipulate, and control flame to her own will.
She can heat molecules to burn them, and when she
gains a better understanding of her abilities, she'll
be able to use it more freely and powerfully. However,
this does come at a price. She can't work when she's
damp, cold, or in wet or cold areas. She may even
be at risk of falling unconscious when she's wet, as
well.
Personality: Witty, short tempered, secluded,
cold (haha), keeps to herself.
Face Claim: Karen Gillian
oc: I'll make this look better later. X'D And
with her full story and what not, like Nera's.

Name: Jakob Evans
Age: Eighteen
Gender: Male
Element: Earth
Abilities: Your typical, 'manipulate the earth to your will' kind
of thing. He can shape weaponry and objects from the dirt
and use them as he sees fit. Once he learns to control it well
enough, he'll also be able to create golems from inanimate
objects and use them as a small army. However, this will
be quite the energy drain. He'll be useful to the group by
being able to create shields from the dirt, and control
the earth to make his own little weapons or whatever.
Personality: goes here
Face Claim: Theo James
oc: I might change his element, it depends. Also, I'll make this
look better like Nera's after I'm done with Jessi's, and of course
add more. c:

Name: Neraida Kalliroe (Nera)
Age: Nineteen
Gender: Female, in case it wasn't obvious.
Element: Water. She's able to freeze and
manipulate it, as well as move it to her will.

Appearance: Nera is 5"6' with a lean body,
but built to withstand more damage
than the ordinary human. She has
bright, cornflower blue eyes and
blonde hair that falls down an inch past
her chest. Her wings are white with
small hints of brownish-gold, and
reach a height of 8"5, towering
over her.

Good Traits: Welcoming, kind-hearted,
open-minded

Bad Traits: Easily upset, witty, over
protective, bossy.

"уσυя мιη∂ ¢яєαтєѕ уσυя яєαℓιту. ιƒ уσυ єχρє¢т ησтнιηg, уσυ σρєη υρ тнє υηινєяѕє тσ gινє уσυ σρтισηѕ. ιƒ уσυ єχρє¢т тнє ωσяѕт, уσυ υѕυαℓℓу gєт ιт."

Meet Nera, the considered leader of their little revolutionary group. She's one of the main characters with almost complete control over her abilities already. She was fascinated by her powers ever since the age of seventeen when she'd discovered them. Keeping them secret from everyone other than herself, she often played with them down in the basement of her house when she was alone, and soon she began to gain control of her abilities, fighting to keep them under her command. She is quite powerful, given, she has one of the easiest elements to figure out, but one of the hardest to keep a hold of. Using her ability weakens her greatly, and will continue to weaken her until she does FULLY gain control of it.
Now, off the subject of her abilities, Nera is very protective over her friends and will stop at nothing to protect them. Being said, she would indeed jump in front of a train for them. At first, Nera may seem somewhat warm and caring, but her personality goes through many different stages. Towards anyone that poses a threat she can tend to be quite witty and rude, hell, towards anyone she loves she can even be considered witty and rude. Truly caring deep down, Nera tends to only show her 'motherly' side when someone truly needs some cheering up, or doctoring. Nera also is quite good at hiding her emotions, especially if she can help it. She hates showing that she's upset because she always wants to seem strong, but we all break down sometimes. She'll usually mask her feelings by being completely witty about it and smiling on, or turning into some sort of control freak and storming off to her room to be alone. It really just depends who asks her, but she'll never reveal her true feelings unless absolutely necessary. She keeps whatever she can locked deep inside.
As for her past, before all the segregation and losses of freedom, she lived a very happy family. She had an older brother, her mother, and her father. They were your typical family, playing games every Saturday night, teasing and fighting with each other, but God did she love them. She was quite the daddies little girl, and looked up to her father like he was a gift from heaven himself. Her personality is much like his, or thats what her mother says. Anyway, she believes she's more like her older brother whom she also looked up to. Anyway, during the beginning of the segregation her father immediatly stood up against Wulfram, and I'm sure you can guess where that ended? Three years later, her father was shot down in front of their house. The image of his death haunts Nera in her every nightmare, and so she has some vengeance to deal with. After her fathers death, Nera's family began to distance themselves. Her mother was never the same, she was distant and usually hid in the bedroom whenever she wasn't being forced into labor. Her brother, however, was always there for Nera. Whenever she cried, he'd be there to hold her and cheer her up. In his free time, she taught him how to play the guitar. She loved when he'd sing to her, telling her everything was going to be all right.
Well, it wasn't all right.
A few months of happiness with her brother was soon lost when he died in the hands of Wulfram himself. Turns out her brother was following in her fathers footsteps and began to colonize a revolution. Wulfram himself gave another visit and murdered her brother right before her eyes.
A month after the death of her brother, Nera discovered her powers. This seemed like a gift, and she wasn't about to let it go to rest. She began to use them, more and more, and when she began to gain some control she had a plan to go after the President. But she couldn't do it alone. Now on the search for 'said' others like her, she's going to put Wulfram in his place and she hopes to destroy him.

CARMICHEAL, KALE JACE

Image
19 years | male | shadow | second in command | jake abel
"INTELLIGENCE WITHOUT AMBITION IS LIKE A BIRD WITHOUT WINGS."

»THE PUPPET &&the world's creation

»LOOK IN THE MIRROR Your everyday tall, dark, and hansom of course. Well... the dark bit maybe a little bit more then literal. But aren't they all? Kale stands at the height of 6'1" with a thin, lean body figure. While he isn't the biggest, strongest, or swiftest male in the world he is definitely the most flexible and agile, not to mention the best spy among the group (and most of his kind). He is found to greatly rely on his quick reflexes and smooth style within a fight. He is most likely to outsmart you then win you in a battle of strength or speed.

He has short tan hair that he keeps cut to length and dark forest green eyes that do a really brilliant job of hiding his thoughts and emotions. Often intense black holes themselves, he can win any staring contest started, you know except for an unmoving picture or a statue (though I wouldn't put it past him to try winning a battle like that).

His wings may be a bit smaller then normal at a height of 7'3" but better to sneak around with. They've been plenty helpful in hiding situations where he doesn't want to get caught, by being able to place them around him while hiding within the dark shadows. The ash black, dark grey flecked, feathers have saved him from plenty a dead situations. One even being the president himself.

With his agility and graceful movement Kale can easily move through the shadows, and even through daylight, without being seen. He has trained himself well throughout the years, even before the "Confinement." He knows how to move with the wind and shadows and all the spying and hiding secrets. Even without his new abilities he'd be difficult to see and catch up with.

»ME, MYSELF, AND I Wisdom and knowledge is power to Kale. He is a brilliant young man with an intelligent and calculating mind. He sometimes seems to be bored of simple things very easily, or bore of abilities and skills that he believes he wouldn't need, but he is always on the look out. If he bores of something it is because he has already looked at it and calculated it's worth in his head. This goes very much the same for people and situations. He can be found to drop a conversation and walk away when he no longer feels the need to be speaking to the particular person or group. However, its not because he thinks they aren't good people or important people. They just currently aren't worth his time and he has plenty of better things to do. However, anything that can give him the upperhand on any person he will keep hidden and locked into a box to reveal at a later date when he does need them.

He also has quite an eye for detail and is able to look at a big picture while still seeing every little important piece of information. He can keep his eye on multiple people and situations at the same time and has trained himself to trust his senses and instincts. He basically lives for information. Especially when it comes to the human government and the president. Kale can see a person's strengths and weaknesses pretty well before entering a fight, mainly because he can view a person's physical and emotion behavior. He's not perfect at this skill and is still working on it, but he always does, what he calls, a "scan check" on a person before he engages them at all.

Kale is a little on the low side with emotions. He can sometimes seem to replicate an emotion perfectly well, which is where his sarcasm comes in a lot, but he doesn't actually feel many of the emotions he can replicate. He likes to use this to his advantage. It is a face and illusion to the people around him. This is his way of keeping people at a safe distance from his inner self and secrets. The fake emotions (which he is pretty good at playing out) are like his security blanket. The only person he has only every had any care for is his younger brother Neil.

Where his lack of emotions is concerned, there is an upside/downside to them. Kale is a snake tongue and straight talker at times. He often has a smooth cool voice that can be very cold and diplomatic or seem gentle and caring. He'll often use this technique to manipulate people into giving him what he wants. And if he has something to say to you that he thinks is important to be said, he'll tell it to you straight rather then dancing around the bush.

Or right, just a hint of warning, this could also mean that he is willing to sacrifice. Maybe even a little bit too much. And also he is able to keep secrets very well and he guards them jealously.

»HIS-STORY Living as a winged human was never easy. In fact Kale always had it in his mind that he was part of the main reason why they put them in the confinement area in the first place. He was always causing trouble as a child. Causing trouble at school and at home. He and his brother got into plenty of situations that he had to get them both out of. And they usually ended up in some kind of epic fight with bloody noses and broken arms. As a young child his mother and father died through persecution from some of the towns people, the human police investigated the scene, but had abandoned it soon afterward when they found out who the victims were and the fact that they couldn't find the culprit that evening. Kale and his younger brother Neil never forgave the humans for that.

Kale, being the oldest, took to taking care of Neil, even bringing him back to school after their parents died. They were taken in by their mother's closet friend. But that relationship was soon over. There had been something strange about the birth of these two brothers, as they never seemed to have any emotion, even pain wasn't as effective as was natural in behavior. So when their parents died, it seemed that neither of them felt anything. This also, however, attracted attention to them. A winged man soon took notice of the two boys, slipping them away from their caretaker in the middle of the night. Once again the police wouldn't search for them because of their kind. And they were soon presumed missing and possibly dead by the other winged beings within their area. They were taken far from their original home.

This winged man was not one to be reckoned with. His hate for the human race was deep and being a former military officer, but thrown from his position when the persecution got really bad, the hatred became that of war. He was a wanted criminal around the land, but had yet to be found. He beat his hatred into the boys and taught them to use their intelligence and superior strength/form in a fight. It was a fight the two boys lost despite their strength. Both began to react in different ways. Kale, being the strongest of the two, took to the training with acceptance, grateful for the ability to learn something new every day. Neil however changed differently, he took to the training too, but was less willing to do as his "master" told him to do, or didn't have the ability to do what he was told. There was emotion there. There was fear and sadness and wonder.

The man noticed this several times within young 8 year old Neil. So Neil would often end the day with more bruises. But it was as the time came for the flyers to be moved to the confinement when it happened. Its was a bloody fight, and I won't explain what happened, but the man ended up dead. They both ran from the scene and somehow ended up within the confinement. They lived more or less a more peaceful life then they had, until the president came into town of course. Kale began getting into more and more trouble once again. Sneaking around the walls, getting any information he could from any of the guards. He even came face to face with the President once, but used his fake emotions, smooth tongue, and hiding ability to get away from him. He tried to keep Neil from as much pain and suffering as possible by having him just stay at the fields and at home.

It was around the time of his seventeenth birthday when Kale started to realize that when he hid, he wasn't just sitting in the dark shadows, he could actually bend the shadows around him. Ever since then he had been practicing his shadows and darkness ability. Small Illusions have become his favorite diversion, and shadow transfers have helped him in more than one occasion. He has found a way to do these little things without spending too much energy when he is in the field. But when he isn't in the field, he is constantly and continuously training his mind and his abilities, growing stronger and stronger in this skill.

NOTE FROM SPADE;; I'm finished with Kale. I'll work on Neil tomorrow evening (hopefully) if thats alright. Neil will be the one who can control the element of Sound. Also, I don't really see Kale falling into a romantic relationship. If someone can break the thick stone walls around his heart, then perhaps he would be willing to open up. But you'll have more luck with his younger brother Neil then you will with Kale.

CARMICHEAL, NEIL RUSSEL

"INTELLIGENCE WITHOUT AMBITION IS LIKE A BIRD WITHOUT WINGS."

»THE PUPPET &&the world's creation

»LOOK IN THE MIRROR Very simular to his tall, dark, and handsome older brother with an air of mystery, Neil Carmicheal stands at the height of 5'8". However, there is something very different that people probably notice from first impression, and that is the blank stare that Neil has within his eyes. Its as if all emotion has been ripped from his body and he has the incapability to express anything other then this blank stare. But his shocking blue eyes are normally gazing at the ground or at his feet. It is a very rare phenomenon for someone to be directly acknowledged by his eyes. Unlike his brother, his skin can seem very pale at times, as if he's very sick or doesn't get out in the sun very often.

Neil has very long fingers, fit to play the piano, which he probably would if he could be allowed to have a piano. Which he couldn't of course. He also has a body that seems to be thin and fragile, unlike his older brother, but don't get fooled by his appearance at all. Neil is a very fierce fighter, one that should not be reckoned with. Despite what others would think, even Kale does not know the full extent of which Neil could go. Much like Kale, Neil works with a more intelligent and agile form of fighting. But wit is not his only tactic. Emotions. Emotions are his secret weapon. But I'll tell you more about that when you read about his personality.

Despite his much shorter size, Neil's wings are much longer then his brother's. They raise above him at the height of 8'3", ten inches taller then Kale's wings and they hail an dusty off-white color rather than the ash black of Kale's. They do, however, have ash flecks being darker and closer together at the arm of the wing and fading as the color gets closer to lower feathers.

»ME, MYSELF, AND I If you hadn't noticed him standing in the room already then its shocking that you have done so now. Neil is not only a very quiet person, he never speaks. Never speaks, or gestures. Not much anyway. He has a completely different way of communication. Although you wouldn't figure this out just by looking at him, as he doesn't communicate very often. Have you ever heard of the idea that the eyes are the window to the soul? Well, this is the same general idea. Neil communicates using his eyes. But the strange thing about it is he will use YOUR emotion within his eyes rather then his own. It is very rare to see the real emotions of Neil Carmichael. Not because he doesn't have emotions, but more because he has lost the ability to express his own. So he chooses to express those of others if he needs to communicate.

He may also communicate with his sound ability. In emergencies or to warn someone off. His ability works in many different ways. He can create a sound barrier, or strengthen the sound and frequency of a simple snap of the fingers. These are his ways of communicating through sound, for he won't use his mouth.

Alright, away from his communication issue and onto his emotion issue. Like his brother was Neil born virtually without emotions. He appeared to be, but that was merely because he couldn't show his emotions. Or if he was able to show his emotions they were ripped away from his by The Bloody Man, or his brother. He was caught between himself and the one person that he loved so dearly. The one who protected him and took care of him. But it was an unconscious thing that happened. It was just that he never grew up knowing HOW to show emotions. He does feel sadness, and happiness, and fear, and the need to protect. He does feel pain, though he has a very high pain tolerance. He just doesn't know how to express them, and will instead act on the emotions he feels.

Even though Neil is the holder and manipulator of sound, he can be a very good listener. In fact, you could tell him just about anything and although you probably won't get any sympathy from him, you will certainly have found someone who could not only keep what you said confidential, but also find a person who will not judge, no matter what you've been through or done in your life.

He is also very overprotective of those he loves and cares for. Kale is the biggest person for him to protect, but if you gain his loyalty and friendship then you certainly will have gained a deep deep friend.

Hmmmrrr... I haven't yet decided on how he would take a romantic relationship. I'm pretty sure that having one with him wouldn't be the same as having one with any normal person, but I am also sure, that it would be an interesting plot idea for someone to bond themselves to him in that way. Don't know how it would turn out. Your welcome to try if you like.

Despite some... set backs in Neil's thinking process, he is a very quick thinker. He didn't go through all that training and stand by everything Kale went through just to come out not knowing anything at all. He knows just as much as Kale and possibly even more. His sound ability has given him the opportunities to spy just as much, or even more, as Kale. Sometimes even being able to eliminate the sounds of his own movement and the movement of the world around him, though that takes much energy from him.

Neil hates to be touched by people he doesn't know and doesn't trust. He hates to be touched in general and even though Kale came up with a way for him to communicate that way, Neil always touches Kale rather than the other way around and its always through the arm, hand or back.

There is one more very important thing you need to know about Neil Carmichael. His thought process is a little bit messed up. He can seem very simple minded, and doesn't really think in terms of words and language. He uses a more image based thought process. Sure, he can understand the english language, and possibly even other languages, unbeknownst to kale, but he has never needed to use this process while he's thought. This is both a very simple way of thinking, and a complicated way of thinking, as he is able to see much more detail. (In my writings however, I'll try to give you a more easier sense of understanding for the lack of words that he uses.)

»HIS-STORY He would always follow the older brother around. He was the shadow, though it may make more sense for the sound to be out in the open rather then the shadow. But that was how it had to be. Never had he been able to talk, so Kale came up with a way for the two to communicate. Through a sense of touch. He would use Kale's hand, arm, or back as a drawing board and would use this to communicate through simple symbols. As a young child his mother and father died through persecution from some of the towns people, the human police investigated the scene, but had abandoned it soon afterward when they found out who the victims were and the fact that they couldn't find the culprit that evening. Kale and Neil never forgave the humans for that. Though, Neil began to sympathize with them soon after that.

He was a wanted criminal around the land, but had yet to be found. He beat his hatred into the boys and taught them to use their intelligence and superior strength/form in a fight. Kale began getting into more and more trouble once again. Sneaking around the walls, getting any information he could from any of the guards. But even as he tried to keep his younger brother safe from harm, Neil was attempting somewhat the same thing. Watching over Kale when he went on his random treasure hunts and even doing a little bit of spying himself. Kale never suspected a thing.

He came to know his ability the night on the attack of The Bloody Man. He had controlled a strange frequency that night that when he had been afraid, breaking all the windows in the process. Though Kale had never figured out what it was, Neil had begun to practice with it. I'm sure Kale would have been jealous by the fact that Neil had been practicing his power long before Kale even realized he'd gained one too.

I decided to just use my starter for Nera. The other two will be added in on the second post. It's a bit long, and by no means do you have to match it. c: it was a first post and it was necessary to provide details and explain things furthermore. Hopefully it isn't complete crap, x'D Enjoy!

Nera awoke to the sound of her own screaming. She jolted upright in the bed, beads of sweat dripping down her body, and her cheeks were wet with tears. Quickly reaching her arm up to wipe the wetness off her cheeks, Nera released a soft sigh and stared down at the carpet of her bedroom. It had been four years since her fathers death, and one since her brothers. However, their deaths still haunted her ever nightmare. This wasn't the first time she'd woken up screaming, and it certainly wouldn't be the last time either. Rubbing her eyes, Nera quickly pushed herself up off of the bed and approached her window, pulling apart the curtains so that she could see outside. The view outside her window would have struck any normal person as unbelievable, but Nera and the rest of her kind were quite familiar with it. The skies were a rusty color, thick with the pollution off the factories. Walls surrounded the entire place, roughly the size of New York, and within that entire radius there was only one thick patch of forestry that hadn't been bombed during President Wulfram's visit. The rest was crawling with large buildings and tiny little houses. The air was thick with fumes, and the only place where you didn't want to just hold your breath, or you didn't feel like you were swimming through an inch thick of pure pollution was the forest that ran one hundred miles to the east. It was almost the only place of freedom, too, if you got past the dozens of guards that surrounded it making daily rounds just to make sure no one was hiding out in there during curfew.

The sight outside the window saddened Nera, her eyes narrowing with pure anger as she gripped tightly onto her curtain, threatening to rip it off the wall. She didn't, however, it was the only thing that let her pretend that it was all just a dream, that what lay behind her curtain and outside her window was all fake. When she closed that curtain at night, she almost felt at peace again. Until her nightmares started coming back up. With a sigh, she turned her back from her window upon closing the curtains again and headed off to her tiny little bathroom. She didn't leave her room without sneaking a glance at the clock which read 6:45, meaning she only had a few minutes before she needed to be in the harvesting fields, otherwise she'd likely get whipped. So she quickly grabbed a pair of clothes, jean shorts and a black tank top to keep cool. She then quickly ran a brush through her blonde hair and threw it up into a pony tail before rushing out the door, barely having time to grab her shoes. "I'll be back later, mom!" She shouted as she closed the door behind her, not that it really mattered. Her mother barely did anything these days but hide at home when she wasn't being ruthlessly worked in the factories. The thought of her sad mother working made Nera sick.

When she exited the house and stepped down onto the street, she was greeted by a pair of guards who glared at her, asking to see some I.D. Nera fought the urge to backtalk them, and she fumbled with her pocket until she pulled out a slim I.D card and handed it to the guards. When they finally let them go, Nera muttered something about how irritating they were, but lucky for her they hadn't heard. As she distanced herself from them, she allowed her white wings to pop out of the holes she'd carefully cut in the back of the shirt so they could escape, and she spread them to their full width, the golden tips just barely glimmering in the faint early morning sunlight. Nera gave a slight smile as she stretched them out, wiggling them slightly before they folding them slightly against her back. Her wings were one of her best features, she believed. No matter how much she hated them and wished they were gone so she didn't have to be treated so poorly, she still loved them. If they'd been clipped, she wouldn't know what she'd do.

Nera quickly hurried off to the harvesting fields that weren't too far away from her house, a simple thirty minute walk. She grabbed her supplies, and began to do her daily business with watering, weeding, and harvesting the fruits and vegetables that they rarely even got to eat. If you even stole one of the harvested goods, they'd cut one of your fingers off. It was quite a cruel punishment, but Nera had gotten away with a fruit or two without getting caught before, but that didn't mean she made it a daily business to steal. She wanted to keep all her fingers, thank you.

With about eight hours of almost pure, hard work, Nera and her other associates were finally released from the job, and she made her way towards the town square, since it wasn't quite curfew yet. She had about three more hours of 'freedom' before curfew set in, and the guards started frantically roaming the city in search of any person outside past curfew. Nera sighed. She missed the fresh night air, the night sky. Not that she'd even be able to see the stars anyway, what, with the thick clouds of pollution over the city. But if you stared long enough, you could just barely make out the stars, that is, if you snuck out at night. Nera tried it before, nearly got caught but it was entirely worth it.

It took her roughly an hour to reach town square, she had to go trough groups of guards galore that constantly asked her for her I.D. Enough, that towards the end Nera wanted to rip their heads off, but didn't want to be publicly punished for smart mouthing them or disobeying. She wanted a peaceful afternoon. As the sun began to get higher in the sky, and then lower again, Nera had gone to the one of the street shops and got herself a fresh sandwich with a food card, and then she spread her wings and before anyone could stop her, she flew right up to one of the buildings and sat on the roof. She wasn't very high up, anyone would be able to spot her up there, but frankly she didn't care. So she spread her wings out behind her and laid down on the roof, eating her sandwich and staring up at the sky for what seemed like hours until the clouds became a dark red as the sun began to set and she was roughly an hour away from curfew.

She sat up with no intention of getting off the roof yet, and set her sandwich aside. Thoughts whirled in her mind as she stared out, towards the wall that locked her kind inside it. She wondered what it was like on the outside, and wondered what her life would be like if she wasn't stuck in here, if none of them had fallen for President Wulfram's trap and gotten themselves stuck inside this huge prison. As she began to think about that, she began to think about her father and brother's attempts to start a revolution, and she began to wonder why she hadn't followed in their foot steps? She sighed, her eyes falling down to her own hands. Even if she tried to wage a revolution like her father and brother, what would she have that they didn't? It was then her hands began to grow cold, and she bit her lip. "No, not now!" She shouted quietly, quickly pressing her hands onto the roof of the building to try and warm them up. This, however, was a terrible effort and the roof underneath her hands began to freeze. She grumbled, why was this happening? It happened before, multiple times. She'd been able to mostly control it, but then came times like these where it acted to its own will. She set her hands on her legs until it was too cold to stand, and she shoved them back onto the roof. As she did, however, a thought popped into her mind. She'd never seen anyone else with such powers, maybe it made her special? Perhaps, this was the key to waging a war against the guards! A grin of delight crossed her lips as she quickly stood, too quickly, and her feet stepped on the ice and she quickly slipped off the roof, tumbling to the ground right in front of a group of bystanders.

Dx I'll make it pretty later...
Just letting you know, that this scene went a whole lot different in my head, so pardon my own crappy first post. xD

CARMICHAEL, KALE JACE
"INTELLIGENCE WITHOUT AMBITION IS LIKE A BIRD WITHOUT WINGS."

She had been his target for many a moons, ever since that man started the first rebellion. What a fool. But he did catch the boy's attention, which was enough. After a rebellion like that, his family became a target. One that would be watched by both sides. If one of them was rebellious. What was stopping the other members of the family from being that way too? And he didn't have to wait long before he found out about the second rebellion. That one ended even quicker despite the fact that it had been a long waited secret between the different winged people. There was too many people involved and too much at stake. While they were nobel to try (he had to give them that) they went about it the wrong way. Now he spent much of his free time waiting for the girl to catch the drift. He hadn't seen the moment she had found out about her powers, nor had he seen her use them very often, but just the cool air that followed her around sometimes was just enough for him to suspect. Seeing as in he had found out about his own powers within the last two years, he figured that anyone who was different in one form or another, could be a potential candidate. However, he hadn't been certain about her powers until today.

He saw the frost grow from under her fingers and he couldn't help but smile to himself. Finally she showed her true colors. But he couldn't allow her to ruin everything before anything had even started. A'course then she stood up as if the sky were falling in the wrong place and her toes slipped on her own ice. He frowned at the scene and, moving quickly, jumped from his own hiding spot on a lower part of the roof in the corner, and caught her before she hit the ground. Feathers were all in his face and he couldn't see a thing before he gently let her down before him. With her back to him. The crowd around them had stopped their daily routine in surprise at this unexpected turn of events and he was sure that the guards would be her soon to see the problem.

Since he was right behind her he leaned in to her ear and whispered, "I shall call you Freezy and you shall be mine, and you shall be my Freezy." Yes, he took the quote from a movie that his brother would watch over and over again, but it seemed like a funny way of telling her that he knew her secret and had full control. Of course, that was the way he worked. Always. Before interacting entirely with people, he needed something on them.

Like those two guards who were currently pushing through the crowd and walking over to the two of them. Once again he whispered in her ear, "Let me handle them..." and he moved from behind her and stood between the girl and their enemies, his ash black wings slightly spread out to casually hide her behind him. Looking around he could see that many of the "innocent bystanders" were still watching them despite the guards that had entered the scene. Fine... he would give them a show.

"What the hell's going on here?" Asked one of the guards. The other guard replied with a role of his eyes and said, "Shut up Rodney, you know the filth, and you saw what happened, you ask the question and no ones gonna talk. Their too pampered for that. I mean, look at these two, willing to disrupt the peace and defy the rules of wings." The first guard, apparently named Rodney, shrugged and held up his semi-automatic at the boy's chest.

"Whats your excuse kid? Depending on the story, we may or may not let your girl friend live." At Rodney's tone of voice, Kale Jace Carmichael had to force himself not to role his eyes in exasperation. Getting violent over a fall. What idiocy. But he shoved away the thought and let the acting begin. "Please..." He said in slight desperation, he even managed to get the wavering eyes that couldn't help but show the fear that a winged one might be feeling at the moment. "It was an accident... In fact... It was my fault she fell off the roof, we were up there together and I... Bumped into her... No one got hurt."

They both seemed slightly confused at that statement. "How could she have feel off the roof if she has wings just like you. Wouldn't she be able to stop her fall?" Asked the unnamed guard curiously. Rodney shook his head and cocked the gun, ready to fire at them both. "I'm just gonna kill her and get it over with."

Kale tensed and became hysteric as he threw himself on the ground in front of Rodney and in a pleading voice said, "No wait! It was an accident! I swear! Please! Kill me instead! It was my fault. PLEASE!" Rodney's face scrunched up in disgust at the dirty faced filth begging at his feet. His eyes told everything to Kale. Everything. What a waste of this man's time. The begging filth was lower then the mud at his feet and still he got the gall to beg. Foolish boy. He took the semi-automatic and beat it against the side of the boy's head, causing his thin body to be thrown a few feet to the left, landing in the thick mud. "C'mon Aiden... Lets leave the poor chickens to lick their own wounds. They're not worth the marauder status."

After the guards had gone, it only took a few moments for life to go back to normal for all of those watching (and now gossiping). Kale lay in the mud for a few more seconds, being slightly dazed by the sudden head trauma. But he wasn't in any particular pain. Though, he knew he might gain some physical consequence for the hit in the head. Like a scar maybe. He grimaced. He was not looking forward to his face being distorted in any way. Of course he could have taken both of them out, but if he got the rep for being a coward, then no one would think twice about him helping this girl rise to power.

★☽★ N E R A ★☾★
〖T o n i g h t we'll ♦ sail ♦ to the ⋰edge⋱ of the ↝ world ↜, and watch the ⇘stars⇙ fall down.〗

With wide eyes, Nera felt chills run up her spine as she listened to the voice behind her. Already on edge from the fall, being saved from potentially breaking something and being told that someone had indeed witnessed the cold ice emitting from her fingers was enough to make her heart pound inside her chest. With her blue eyes staring ahead, Nera swallowed hard and went to reply to the stranger behind her before being cut short when the rumbling footsteps of the guards came rushing from around the corner. Her stranger savior jumped in front of her after explaining he would be the one to deal with the irksome guards, and she stared at the back of his wings in wonder of what was about to be done. He began talking, the guards, not-so-surprisingly, barely listened and opted to shoot the Nera's savior and Nera herself until the dark winged boy dropped down on his knees and begged. He's willing to do all of this for me? she thought to herself, staring in complete bewilderment at the boy who'd dropped down on his knees in an act of protecting her. Then, Nera almost jumped to the sound of his skull coming within impact of the butt of the soldiers gun. Clenching her fists, Nera fought back the instinct to spit some insult at the guards that would ultimately end them in more trouble, perhaps even death. She wasn't about to throw everything the strange boy had just done for her down into the trash, so she quickly glanced away and bit her tongue, knowing all too well where a sharp mouth could get you in this current situation. She'd watched her brother die like that, and there was no way she was going to be making the same mistakes. At least not right now.

Lowering her hand down towards the man who had been thrown into the mud, Nera gave the gentlest of smiles, although her eyes held curiosity and concern. She kept her hand lowered, waiting for him to grab it so she could help him up. Besides, with a hit like that to the head it was a wonder that he didn't fall unconscious. "I'm Nera, and I just want you to know I'm not going to be all love-struck with you just because you saved my bum from being taken into custody by those fools." Her blue eyes took a glance up towards the corner the guards had disappeared around. "Now, lets get out of here so we can talk in private about what you told me you saw." Narrowing her eyes slightly, she released his hand and slid them in the pockets of her jeans. She glared at the group of people surrounding them, whispering already formed rumors between each other. She tried to listen closely to them, to hear what they were saying, but there were so many whispers at once that one would get a headache trying to listen to that sort of nonsense. So Nera gave a bothered sigh and turned on her heel, already pushing through the crowd and hoping that her savior, the boy with the ash colored wings, was following her. Even after her witty response, she was still very grateful for his presence in saving her. Not to mention, she was a bit worried about the wound on his head. Once they got into private she'd probably help him out with it, to prevent the already prominent bump from swelling even more.

CARMICHAEL, KALE JACE
"INTELLIGENCE WITHOUT AMBITION IS LIKE A BIRD WITHOUT WINGS."

He had sat up only slightly with a small groan as the girl came over and held out her smaller hand towards him. Looking up at her with a plastered pain in his eyes, Kale took it and allowed her to pull him up to his feet. He had heard her words as he took his other, bigger hand and placed it on his face to feel the damage. There was a large bump on his temple with some scratches around it for the icing on the cake. He took his fingers away dripping with thick blood, but there was less then he thought there might be. The blow wasn't enough to crack his skull, but Kale did wonder if something had happened in that man's life and he had just pushed some buttons cause there was such hatred in those eyes. "Thats fine. I'm most definitely sure that you wouldn't get the same affection back. In fact, nor would I have saved your bum if I was sure you would react that way. You will not find a prince charming in the eyes of Kale. Sorry love." He said pushing away the thought of the oncoming wall of pain that was threatening to throw him unconscious.

When she began to walk away from him, he followed. He didn't necessarily care where she was going to take him, but he was 100% sure that this was the start of something big. All he had to do was keep her on the trail of the 100 mile plan he'd already worked out in his head. Sure, there were some tricky parts about it and would require his own level head, but he knew it would work. It had to work.

He followed her silently, his face peered at the ground, but his eyes were constantly moving around the streets. Sometimes he would watch the back of Nera's head, other times he would be shooting glares at random people who would be chucking glances in their direction. His sneer usually forced them to look away awkwardly, but they deserved to feel guilty.

A couple yards from the Market place Kale said, "My house is here. We take extra hidden precautions to keep our house as private as possible." He murmured the last bit just loud enough for her to hear. If there had been anyone else watching them or listening to them, the shadows would have alerted him to the gap in their embrace. But no one was there and so he felt it was safe enough to bring her inside. "My brother should be home, so... just don't... touch him."

He opened the door and said, "Neil! I'm home... Kind of..." He walked through the main door into the living room where his opposite brother was sitting. His dark hair messy from a long day's work in the fields and his electric blue eyes gazed at wooden cup on the small table in front of him. In fact, he seemed quite fascinated by it. With long pale fingers he would tap the side of it. He didn't openly acknowledge the action of the door opening, but when Kale and Nera stepped into the room his tapping stopped and he sat back in the wooden chair he was sitting in, his eyes staring blankly at the cup.

Kale raised an eyebrow. What was that boy up to. "Nera... my brother Neil. He's not like normal people, so you won't get a peep or a look outta him, but he's not gonna hurt you... unless of course, you pose a threat, but I'm sure even if that happens he won't have to raise a finger. This is our house, no real need for a tour as its only a one bedroom house, but here we can talk privately if you like. That most interesting phenomenon is probably whats on your mind if what you said back there is understood correctly. Worried I might snitch?"

Nera narrowed her eyes slightly, giving them a roll as she exited the crowd of judgmental people. She would have sent a snarky reply back, but she was too lost in thought of what was about to happen. Following his direction, she entered the house and allowed her eyes to immediately fall on the strange boy staring with the most intriguing look at the cup. "Snitch? I dare you. You don't even have any proof. Besides, if those damned guards came to catch me I'd just freeze them and run off, but not before " She said, although she knew that would never happen. You could run -- or fly -- all you wanted, but they'd find her, and either experiment on her or murder her, whichever was more useful to them.

Making her hand cold, she narrowed her eyes a bit and stepped closer to the stubborn, jerk of a male, and placed her hand against the spot where he had been whacked with the gun. It was her response to him saving her arse back there. As she did so, however, her blue orbs flicked to the strange boy -- Neil -- and she gave a gentle, friendly wave with her free hand in his direction. "Now then, tell me, Kale, what do you want with me? Why'd you save me from getting whipped, or worse; prisoned, back there?" She asked, pulling her hand off his head but keeping the freezing effect still on the sore. She rubbed her hands together and stepped back, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed over her chest.

Sorry for taking so long with this reply. I'm also trying to put together a Harry Potter rp site that I've been working on. The graphics and coding and information are taking a while to put together. ^-^ So have patience with me.

CARMICHAEL, KALE JACE
"INTELLIGENCE WITHOUT AMBITION IS LIKE A BIRD WITHOUT WINGS."

A sneaky grin lighted the face of the thin boy. "Oh Cheri, I have proof. Your word just now is proof enough for me. Of course, unless you are going to stop using your powers completely. It will not be difficult for me to find some full proof." Then she put her hand on his face and cooled off the bump on the side of his head. He winced slightly, and probably would have felt a little bit guilty of he could feel something like that, but he couldn't, so he didn't apologize. But you would never really get an apology from Kale anyway. Although he did stop himself from making another pretty cruel comment about how that act was proof in of itself.

The gentle little wave caught Kale's eye and he sent a quick glance over at his younger brother. Neil didn't communicate much, but when he did communicate, usually it was something important so he always tried to keep an eye on the boy. But he did nothing, instead continued to gaze at the cup that he had been looking at before. For once, something deep inside him jumped. It was always this way when he would look at the boy. But he could remember a time when Neil was lively. But they were very young. Neil wouldn't be able to remember that far back would he? Was it possible for Neil to recover? Probably not.

When Nera took her hand away from his face he immediately looked away from his brother, causing all feeling to vanish along with the action. Instead, two intense dark green eyes landed on his guest as she spoke. He couldn't tell her everything of course, but he could explain a few things. It of course wasn't a game, but he didn't want to hand everything on a silver platter either. Especially when plenty of the plot was tied to his own secrets.

"I saved you Nera, because I've met both your father and your brother and it's quite obvious that they found you quite worthy of the title hero. I saved you, because you are the key to overthrowing the president and giving freedom to the winged people." At the ending of his sentence, there was a louder then normal crash of a wooden chair clattering to the floor. Neil had stood up so suddenly that even Kale had jumped in surprise. The other boy didn't look at anyone, but he did walk swiftly over to the small kitchen at the back of the small house and took the cup in his hand (the cup from before) and filled it with the water from the sink. Then, quite ominously, Neil walked over to Nera and offered the cup to her. His shocking blue eyes stared blankly at her shoes for a moment as he waited for her to take the cup from his long, pale fingers.

Kale, surprised, watched in intense interest at his brother's performance. He wasn't sure what his brother was up to, but anything his brother did was for a reason. He watched the boy's body language, looking for any sign of hints. But there was none. "Hey... Not quite sure what he has going on, but I think Neil would like a demonstration." Neil's reaction was a strange one, even for Kale.

CARMICHAEL, NEIL RUSSEL
"INTELLIGENCE WITHOUT AMBITION IS LIKE A BIRD WITHOUT WINGS."

The younger boy lifted his eyes and gazed right into Nera's own. The expression within them was one of determined curiosity. Who was this girl? Could she be trusted? Could the life of he and Night Raven be placed in her hands like Night Raven so wanted to believe? A test. Night Raven tested her already. But he would test her again to be sure. Water. Water listened to her beckoning. Her art. How did she use the water? How did she command it. If she passed the test, he would ally himself with her. Give her a name she deserved. If she passed, he would show her himself. His secret. The one even the Night Raven didn't know.
