I feel like I need to immerse myself more into drawing, and I've found a pretty neat app on my phone. I do have a tablet, but unfortunately my laptop is crap so that'll have to wait.

I'm still developing my style and haven't fully grasped anatomy and etc. so I would love any criticism and comments. Please don't be afraid to be harsh. I know I need to improve and your help will get me there.



I'm thinking about releasing this as an adopt on this website. Thoughts and critique?

That's so cute! I love the fluff. It looks almost feathery!
I'd definitely recommend working with shading, too. The potential adoptable looks lovely already, but figuring out what style of shading works for you will make it pop that much more, whether subtly or realistically.
The ears look adorable, and I have to say again, I love the fluffiness.

I was originally planning not too go with the whole shading route, but I do see your point and I'll give it a try. What do you think about the background? Should I provide one or keep it transparent?

Hmm, it can't hurt to try if you'd like to add a background! I think it looks fine without, but the extra practice on anything will help a lot down the road.

Oh, these look absolutely adorable!!! It's amazing that it was done on mobile. Friggin' insane. cx I absolutely love that smile and that gaze; sassy adoptable, incoming~

Sphye is completely right; not only will shading/light values help bring your creature to life, it will also "organize" your art; it can help define difference in fur(which this adorable thing has a lot of) and in general guide the eye. c:

There's also a way that you can shade using only lineart, in a sense, if you don't want to do any traditional shading(Darker lines on the side away from the light, brighter ones facing the light, blend slightly) But I don't think it would work quite that well with your style. It might be something to look into, however. ^^

Thank you for the advice! However, I'm thinking about leaving the shading very minimum to only the features in the back. I'm having a hard time shading every single little tuft and ultimately not liking the result of it. Should I just do the minimum shading or shade it all the way through?

Oh gosh, full shading on a tufted animal like this would be a nightmare. I would definitely say minimal or medium shading(edges, defined tufts, extra details not lined out). Perhaps add some highlights to bring it out, as well. c:

Idea for a possible future character. Would the ribbon be a bit much?

Oooh, very pretty! Reminds me of the Dreamworks logo. xP I think the ribbon is fine!!!

One suggestion is to perhaps make the spots a bit more varied[both in terms of size and proximity] so it seems a bit more layered and gives the drawing life. c: I love the tail, though!!! Wonderful lines. ^^b
