(All the birds are in Heaven/Paradise. They are watching earth.)

Bird 1: Ya’ know, guys, Paradise is gettin’ kinda’ borin’.

Bird 2: I agree. I know! Let’s visit earth.

All: Good idea!

(Bird 2 blushes. They all fly down to earth.)

Hummingbird: Look! A comet! Fly!!!!

(Eagle flies down.)

Eagle: It’s not a comet! They’re birds!

Hummingbird: What!?

Eagle: Yes. They are the strangest looking birds I’ve ever seen.

Cardinal: Look! They’ve landed!

Hummingbird: Look! They’re so beautiful! Even more pretty than me!

Vulture: You and your good looks.

(All the birds on earth fly of to investigate.)

Bird 1: Whoa!

Hummingbird: What!?-Who!?-Who are you?

Bird 2: We are the birds in paradise.

Chickadee: So earth is paradise?

Bird 1: No! Do not be silly. We come from a place in the sky, called Paradise. So I guess you can call us… Birds of Paradise!

Hawk: Why are you here?

Bird 3: Well…

Bird 1: Paradise kind’ve got a little borin’.

Hummingbird: Can I come?

God’s Messenger: I’m sorry, little bird, but you don’t fit the age limit.

Hummingbird: Wha…?

Bird 1: When life gets to harsh, we will take you up, but you will need to shed your body, for Paradise does not accept earth matter, but souls are always welcome.

Old Bird: C-can I c-come?

Bird 1: Sure. It will be a good example for all these birds. Any last words?

Old Bird: Remember children: don’t eat too much birdseed. I’m ready.

Bird 1: Okay. Birds of Paradise will stay here to help you get to Paradise.

(A bright light flashes, blinding the birds. When it stops, all that is left of the Old Bird is her limp body.)
