I had a cat that had Pyometra. And from my experience it sounds like your kitty has something else or if anything maybe at a very early stage of the infection. I'm no vet or anything so please don't quote me.
I'm just going by my own personal experience and my cat was at an advance stage of the infection. Her belly was swollen, I just thought she was putting on weight, until I realized she wasn't eating and didn't drink all that much. She was also very lethargic. And I had no idea what was wrong with her until she started to discharge a large amount of pus from the infection (nasty as it may sound it's the truth) We got her in right away and she did make a full recovery. But it's scary to think that if she didn't discharge the infection it may have ruptured inside and ended up killing her.
I hope for the best for your cat.
Well, we went to the vet today as I finally got payed. Stella does have Pyometra, but it's an extremely early onset of it and it was hard for the doctor to find, which is good since that means it's not too far into things. On Monday we've got to take her back to the vet again for a scheduled surgery, which will clear everything up. I'm extremely happy we were able to catch this early, though I admit I did cry a bit because I felt like I'd let my cat down and that I hadn't been taking as good of care of her in order to prevent it. Still, the surgery isn't too expensive and the doctors are extremely nice so I'm very happy with where we're at now. <3
