What was extremely confusing to you as a child?

Why was it so confusing then/ or still is now?

I couldn't understand why the world needed money. The world still needs money, but I couldn't understand why. Like: why can't people just get things for free? or have free electricity with bills and stuff? I t had been soooooooooooooooooo confusing

I always wondered about something similar to the whole: what came first, the chicken or the egg thing, except with pumpkins. I realized that if pumpkins needed seeds to grow and seeds were made from pumpkins, how was the pumpkin created?

I thought that pickle brine/pickle juice was juiced pickles, and so I was very confused about how pickles existed if you needed to soak them in brine first, but you also needed pickle juice to make them.

I was very confused by the words 'chicken' and 'kitchen', so as I child, I would've normally said, as off a reference to the 'kitchen', I said: "Mother, can we go to the land of food?"
'Land of food' is what I used, I think I used it until the age of 6 e.e

For a very long time I was confused about why raspberries are pink but seemingly everything they're made into turns blue o.e. Turns out there is a compound (anthocyanin) that turns into a deep blue pigment when either the acid balance becomes too basic or traces of metal is present.

There's a lot of things that I could mention in this post, but one of the more straight forward incidents of confusion came from the fact that bathrooms were separated based on gender. As a child, I assumed that all bathrooms were the same: toilet stalls, baby changing stations, and sinks. I knew that boys and girls were different, but it wasn't until later that I learned what those differences meant to society.
