Okay, so there's a rumour going around on Tumblr that a massive wave of anon / 4chan haters that are going to be messaging users, targeting people who are 'weakened' by depression or other problems. They may be saying things like 'go kill urself' and things I certainly cannot post here. It allegedly started in the Supernatural and Superwholock fandoms and is now all over tumblr. Some haters may be targeting black people, LGBTQ+ and other minorities. It's also been said that they will be spamming popular tags with gore/porn and hacking accounts. It's been said this is scheduled for New Year's Day and New Year's Eve. Stay safe by:

Turning off anon. They can't send hate if they can't get on anon.

Changing passwords.

Staying out of the popular tags.

Sorry if this doesn't belong, but I've already seen so many cool users on this site and don't want any of you to be affected by this.

It would probably be best to post this on tumblr, and to spread the word through different blogs instead of here.
Thank you very much for raising awareness about the fact that people would try to do something so awful, though. I hope that as few people as possible will be affected.
