Yeah it was a bit disturbing, that Oberon(was that it?) guy was a bit messed up. I found out the other day went I was talking to my mother tht in this book series call the rainbow fairies look it up(we are talking about the series with over 100 short stories I used to devour when I was 6 (I was extremely high with my reading standards in fact when I was five I was up to the standard of an eight year old but no one cares about that))the king and queen's names were Oberon and Titania.
I think Log Horizon is somewhat close. I haven't watched it, but that's what I've heard. Also Btoom is similar, but be warned that
it is a 17+ anime. There is a good bit of mature content in that other than just your standard blood and guts.
I've also found No Game No Life to be highly enjoyable. It's not exactly the same as SAO, but it's what you'd get if you combined SAO with something like Death Note or Code Geass. It's really good, and I'd probably recommend it over the other two simply because it's a really unique concept, and keeps you thinking.
