{Eyes all but narrowing at the girl's arrogant tone, Viera clacked her teeth in frustration at the fragile situation she had managed to manoeuvre herself into. The band around her wrist still vibrated silently along her arm, reminding her of the unspoken time limit that rested upon her before she had to return to her work- not to mention a somewhat paranoid Tairad, it would seem.
This girl, young though she was, was not fond of beating around the bush apparently. Although her actions previously may suggest otherwise, Viera had little doubt that she was as tough as her words she spoke. Danger seemed an almost foreign concept to her, as she easily accepted the IAF officer's words unflinchingly.
"Yes, murders," Viera replied as calmly as she could manage, but paused before saying anymore. Though her intention had never been to recruit these children to help with the strange cases, if somehow she could convince this girl the IAF had no aim to hurt her or what she assumed to be her siblings, perhaps she would allow aid. Yet, what words could she possibly offer to a girl that had so little, and seemed to want nothing to do with her.
"We all have people we want to protect," Viera replied gravely at last, her eyes sliding across the girl's companions meaningful. "To do so alone may no longer be possible."
